Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volvo XC60 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a premium compact crossover with standard safety tech, a well-equipped cabin, and a five-passenger layout. Its appeal is rooted in safety, clean Scandinavian design, and upscale amenities, while the understated styling may feel classic to some shoppers and dated to others. Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 XC60 leans on Volvo’s long-running strengths: safety, standard safety tech, and a reputation for protection. It also offers a well-equipped cabin and a premium feel that should help it remain appealing to used buyers who value comfort and security. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the concept and more about making sure the specific used example has been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report to confirm the vehicle’s background and verify that the listing matches the seller’s claims. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and any available luxury features, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on equipment and condition. Focus on overall wear, signs of prior damage, and whether the SUV’s premium features are functioning as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,416 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,465, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $38,325 sits slightly below last year's $41,537.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point today than a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate upside if you buy at the current average and try to resell quickly. On the other hand, the XC60’s premium positioning and strong safety reputation can help support demand when it’s time to list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,134, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,325 average.
• It offers plug-in hybrid efficiency with a useful dual-powertrain setup.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing momentum, and broad appeal, the 2024 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less up front and you like the plug-in hybrid angle, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
