Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Volvo XC60. It fits well if you want a premium compact crossover with a five-passenger layout, standard safety tech, and a cabin focused on comfort and upscale presentation. Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2024 XC60’s reputation is built around Volvo’s long-running emphasis on safety, standard safety technology, and a premium cabin that prioritizes comfort and usability. It also offers fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains and a plug-in hybrid option, which broadens its appeal for different driving needs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic appeal and more about making sure the vehicle’s condition and maintenance history match its premium positioning.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches its asking price, especially on a luxury SUV where repairs can be costly. Put inspection priority on the cabin, electronics, and any available comfort or driver-assist features, since those are central to the XC60’s value. Focus on overall wear, service records, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $38,498 sits slightly below last year's $41,863.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point now than a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate downside if you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. The XC60’s premium positioning and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want safety and luxury in a compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,423, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,498 average.
• It offers a useful plug-in hybrid setup with electric-only driving and gasoline backup.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing, and broad appeal, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront and you like the plug-in hybrid angle, the 2023 is the more price-sensitive path to consider.
