Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC40 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.73% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,225, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,096 average.
• It brought notable updates, including new mild-hybrid powertrains and revised styling.

The 2024 is the better fit if you want the current-year market with strong inventory and a premium-feeling small SUV. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you a recent XC40 with meaningful updates.
