Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC40 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.23% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,454, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $31,216 average.
• The 2023 adds mild-hybrid updates and revised styling.

The 2024 is the better fit if you want the current-year market and a strong mix of inventory quality and owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter path because it costs less while still delivering the XC40’s core appeal.
