How much does the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander cost?

Prices have softened 6.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,864 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

It stands out as a bigger, more fuel-efficient three-row crossover for you if you need more room than a regular Highlander can provide. The available hybrid powertrains strengthen its appeal, and the cabin is described as spacious, well-built, and easy to live with day to day.

The trade-offs are clear: poor handling is one drawback, and it also has too many subscription-dependent tech features. Even so, if you prioritize space, efficiency, and a broad range of powertrain choices, this model year has a strong identity.

Cons: Poor handling; too many subscription-dependent tech features.

Market signal: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Grand Highlander is presented as a Toyota product with a reputation for reliability, and the cabin is described as well-built with materials that should hold up well over time. Its standard turbocharged gas engine and hybrid options also give you a broad range of choices without moving away from the model’s practical mission.

The performance notes point to solid brakes, adequate acceleration, and a powertrain lineup that includes a fuel-efficient hybrid option and a more powerful Hybrid Max. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize better-than-expected fuel economy for a vehicle this size.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been affected by heavy use or poor upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report, then prioritize a careful inspection of the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain behavior on a test drive. Because this is a large family SUV with multiple powertrain and trim combinations, condition matters a lot more than mileage alone.

Look closely at wear items, check that the infotainment and driver-assistance features work as expected, and make sure the vehicle feels tight and composed over bumps and at parking-lot speeds.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE uses Softex synthetic leather, while the Limited and Platinum upgrade to real leather. The XLE also gets a 10-way power driver seat, heated front seats, and an 8-way front passenger seat, while the higher trims add ventilation and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 2.5-liter hybrid, or the Hybrid Max powertrain. The gas engine makes 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, the hybrid makes 245 combined net horsepower, and the Hybrid Max makes 362 combined net horsepower and 400 combined net lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The updated lane-departure alert can identify three-dimensional objects like guard rails.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-device Bluetooth connectivity. Connected-services features such as the intelligent assistant, cloud-based navigation, and live agent assistance require a subscription.
• Fuel efficiency: Gas FWD models return 21 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined; AWD gas models return 21/27/23 on the XLE and 20/26/22 on the Limited and Platinum. The hybrid XLE returns 36/32/34, the Hybrid Limited with AWD returns 35/21/33, and the Hybrid Max returns 26/27/27.

Which 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the best-value choice if you want the Grand Highlander’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get standard heated front seats, a power driver seat, a large touchscreen, and the full standard safety suite.
• Limited: This trim is the step up if you want a more upscale feel, since it adds real leather, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the standard JBL stereo. It makes the Grand Highlander feel more premium without going all the way to the top.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale version and are willing to pay for it. It can be equipped with Portobello upholstery when paired with the top-spec engine, and it sits at the top of the range with the richest feature set.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing into the first listing you see.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,864 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,990, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $43,990 sits slightly below last year's $47,015.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices stay soft. For you as a seller later, the current trend implies that holding value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander safe?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has yet to be crash-tested or rated by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The adaptive cruise control also offers four following-distance settings.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out for offering not one but two hybrid powertrains, plus plenty of space and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of space, efficiency, and standard safety, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible price, you can shop patiently and focus on the best-condition examples, but the 2024 already looks attractive thanks to softer pricing and healthy inventory.
