How much does the 2024 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 8.46% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,093 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Tesla Model Y earns 4.3/5 from users, and the overview points to a practical electric crossover with strong range, generous standard equipment, and a roomy cargo area. It also gives you a rear hatch, a front trunk, and a 15-inch touchscreen that handles most functions, which makes it especially appealing if you want EV utility in a family-friendly package. The tradeoffs are familiar: the ride is firm, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered, and most controls live in the touchscreen. Good and great deals account for 27.2% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built around everyday usability, with strong range, useful storage, and a straightforward electric powertrain layout. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up hidden wear from heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs of prior repair. Because this model leans heavily on touchscreen-based controls and EV-specific hardware, it also makes sense to confirm that all major systems work as expected during a thorough test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Tesla Model Y?

This is still a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,093 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.46% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 79.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,226, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $37,160 sits slightly above last year's $34,263.

That upward movement suggests the market still values this model year’s mix of range, practicality, and standard equipment. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should have a decent chance of preserving value relative to a softer market. Strong demand for used EVs with useful range and everyday versatility can help support future pricing when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.46% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want the Model Y’s practical EV formula with strong range, generous standard equipment, and a roomy cargo area. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2024 still looks like the better choice when you want a well-equipped used EV with broad appeal.
