How much does the 2024 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,114 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.3/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The overview frames it as a practical electric crossover with strong range, generous standard equipment, and a roomy cargo area, so it fits well if you want everyday utility in an EV. It also emphasizes the hatchback-style body, under-floor storage, and front trunk, which make it especially useful if you value cargo flexibility. With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built around practicality, strong range, and a generous standard feature set, which can make ownership feel straightforward if those strengths match your priorities. It also notes that the Model Y shares much of its hardware with the Model 3, which supports a familiar, well-established platform. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the touchscreen-heavy setup and EV-specific components are in good condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks the battery-related systems, charging equipment, and overall electronic functionality. Because so many controls run through the touchscreen, make sure the cabin tech works properly and that the vehicle’s condition matches the seller’s description. It also helps to pay close attention to tire wear, suspension feel, and any signs of prior bodywork.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Tesla Model Y?

This is still a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,114 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 78.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,223, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $37,451 sits slightly above last year's $34,498.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. Strong demand can help support resale value, especially when the vehicle remains desirable for its range, cargo space, and standard equipment. If you keep the car in clean condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary pick if you want a used Model Y with strong practicality, solid owner satisfaction, and a market that still shows healthy demand. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2024 remains a strong choice when you want a balanced mix of value, utility, and buyer appeal.
