How much does the 2024 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 7.28% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,390 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Forester earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a compact SUV that emphasizes practicality, visibility, and all-weather confidence, with standard all-wheel drive and a spacious interior. It is especially appealing if you want a straightforward daily driver that prioritizes usefulness, safety, and efficiency over flash. The market also shows 36.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview reinforces that impression by highlighting Subaru’s reputation for reliability and usefulness, along with standard all-wheel drive and a practical, comfort-focused design. It also notes a generation that improved ride quality, stability, handling, and crash protection, which supports confidence in everyday ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still confirm the report matches the seller’s claims and look closely at service records, especially for routine maintenance. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, and cabin condition so you can spot signs of heavy use or neglect. Because this model is valued for practicality and all-weather confidence, you should focus on overall condition and maintenance history more than cosmetic extras.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,390 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,452, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $28,452 sits slightly below last year's $30,686.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale will depend on how well the market holds up. If prices remain stable or recover, a well-kept Forester should remain appealing because it fits the practical, all-weather needs many used-SUV shoppers want. Strong condition and documented maintenance will matter a lot when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,411, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,452 average.
• It emphasizes everyday usefulness with standard AWD and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $30,854, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,452 average.
• It adds a quieter cabin and more advanced tech and safety.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-rated Forester with strong market availability and softer pricing than last year. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value play; if you want newer features and are willing to pay more, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
