How much does the 2024 Subaru Forester cost?

Prices have softened 7.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,251 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2024 Forester is built around practicality, all-weather confidence, and everyday usability, with standard all-wheel drive, a spacious interior, and a large cargo area that make it especially appealing if you want a useful family vehicle. It also leans into safety and visibility, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features for shoppers who want a little more refinement.

With 34.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Subaru Forester reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Forester’s reliability appeal comes from its reputation for dependable everyday use, standard all-wheel drive, and a straightforward setup that prioritizes consistency over flash. Subaru also builds in a strong safety focus and useful visibility, which reinforces its practical, low-drama character.

For used buyers, that combination suggests manageable long-term ownership risk if you choose a well-kept example and stay on top of routine maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Put inspection priority on signs of wear, prior repairs, and any issues that could affect daily usability, especially if you plan to rely on the Forester for family duty or all-weather driving. Focus on overall condition and maintenance consistency rather than chasing cosmetic perfection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s-market discount.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,980, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $28,980 sits slightly below last year's $31,287.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more efficiently today but may also temper near-term resale gains if you sell soon. For a future seller, the upside is that the Forester’s practical reputation and broad appeal can help support demand when it’s time to list. A well-kept example with strong history and clean condition should be easier to move than a neglected one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,019, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,980 average.
• It emphasizes usefulness with standard AWD, roomy space, and updated safety tech.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $31,503, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,980 average.
• It adds more advanced tech and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want a balanced mix of value, satisfaction, and current-market availability. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the smarter secondary path; if you want newer equipment and can stretch your budget, the 2025 is the upgrade path to compare.
