How much does the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 4.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,184 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy range of choices.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its build quality, comfort, handling, fuel efficiency, safety features, and value for money. The Crosstrek’s standard all-wheel drive and rugged personality also fit shoppers who want extra confidence in poor weather or on rough roads. The main trade-offs are the underpowered base engine and the cheap-feeling interior materials.

With its mix of everyday practicality and trail-friendly capability, it makes the most sense if you want a small crossover that feels more capable than many rivals. The market also looks supportive, with 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the Crosstrek’s build quality and value over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes Subaru’s reputation for strong resale values and the model’s long-running appeal, which supports the case for long-term confidence.

Subaru’s improved engine tuning and mounts also help reduce vibration, which is a good sign for day-to-day durability and comfort. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the platform itself and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on signs of hard use, especially if the vehicle has seen rough weather, dirt roads, or outdoor-adventure duty. Pay close attention to overall condition, since the Crosstrek’s appeal often comes from being used as a practical, all-weather companion.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance, but roof rails are only optional there. Premium, Sport, and Limited trims get standard roof rails, which better suit buyers who plan to carry gear.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter engine makes 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.5-liter engine delivers 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. All versions use a CVT, and the 2.5-liter setup is the better fit if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight system is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Automatic emergency steering is added on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring.
• Infotainment: The 11.6-inch touchscreen is standard on all but the Base trim. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad is available across the lineup and standard on Sport and Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 29 combined for the 2.0-liter model. The 2.5-liter version is rated at 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 29 combined, while Wilderness trims drop to 25 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 27 combined.

Which 2024 Subaru Crosstrek trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is offered in 5 trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Wilderness.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Crosstrek’s core appeal: standard all-wheel drive, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, and a practical setup for everyday use. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but you give up some convenience and visual polish.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the higher-priced models. It also benefits from the larger infotainment setup and keeps the Crosstrek’s practical, all-weather character intact.
• Sport: This trim is the better choice if you want the stronger 2.5-liter engine and more confident passing power. It also adds paddle shifters and a more capable X-Mode setup, making it a smart step up if you want more versatility.
• Limited: This is the more upscale choice if you want the stronger engine plus more comfort and convenience features. It suits you best if you care about a richer daily driving experience and are willing to pay for it.
• Wilderness: This is the trim to choose if you want the most off-road capability. It adds 9.3 inches of ground clearance, a shorter final-drive ratio, a ladder-style roof rack, and more aggressive trail-friendly hardware.

EyeSight is standard, and automatic emergency steering is included on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Crosstrek?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,184 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,916, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $26,048 sits slightly below last year's $27,298.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and mileage. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of preserving value later because you’re entering at a lower price point than a year ago. The Crosstrek’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek safe?

The Subaru Crosstrek has been awarded a Top Safety Pick designation by IIHS since 2013, and NHTSA gave the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek five stars overall.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight safety system is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. For 2024, EyeSight also uses a wider-angle lens, and automatic emergency steering is included on cars equipped with blind-spot monitoring. That gives you a strong standard safety package across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new Wilderness trim level, upgraded safety features, and a larger touchscreen.

The bottom line: The 2024 model is the better pick if you want the latest Crosstrek updates, especially the expanded safety tech and the Wilderness trim’s added capability. If your priority is simply finding the lowest price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2024 gives you a strong mix of value, features, and market availability.
