Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 4,720 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It’s aimed at you if you want a small crossover SUV with rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, and a classy interior. The trade-off is that its performance is fairly pedestrian, and it’s described as poor value for money. Even so, it’s a sensible fit if you want a rugged-leaning compact SUV without expecting it to be especially exciting.

With 41.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50 is described as a well-rounded everyday crossover that doesn’t offend, and its standard safety equipment and mainstream mechanical setup support that impression. Its performance is straightforward rather than flashy, which can be a plus if you want a simpler ownership experience. Mazda’s warranty coverage is comparable to many Japanese and American brands, and the model’s standard equipment helps it feel complete from the start.

Mazda’s coverage includes a three-year, 36,000-mile new vehicle warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that value and refinement may matter more than excitement, so condition and maintenance history should carry extra weight.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake condition, and whether the vehicle has been used in a way that matches its rugged-leaning image. If you’re shopping a turbo model or one with extra equipment, make sure the added complexity is reflected in the asking price and maintenance records.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CX-50’s trim spread is broad, but the base 2.5 S Select is the clearest reminder that Mazda keeps some equipment back at the entry point. Higher trims add more comfort and convenience, while the Meridian Edition leans harder into the rugged look with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. If you want the best value, the midrange trims are the ones to compare most closely.
• Powertrain: Every CX-50 uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, with turbocharging on higher trims. The base engine makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbo version is rated at 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87-octane fuel. All-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic are standard.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a rotary controller instead of a touchscreen. Android Auto requires a cable. Higher trims add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is EPA-rated at 27 mpg combined, while the turbo engine returns 25 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 8 trim levels: 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive, rugged design, and core safety tech without stretching the budget too far. It’s the trim to start with if you want the CX-50’s basics and don’t need extra luxury touches.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It should be the first stop for shoppers who want more comfort than the base model without jumping into turbo pricing.
• 2.5 S Premium: This trim moves you further up the comfort and convenience ladder while staying with the non-turbo powertrain. It makes sense if you want a more polished daily driver and don’t need the extra punch of the turbo models.
• 2.5 S Premium Plus: This is the most upscale non-turbo choice, so it’s the one to consider if you want the richest feature set without paying for turbo power. It’s a good fit if comfort matters more than acceleration.
• 2.5 Turbo: This is the value pick if you want stronger performance, since it adds the turbocharged engine without forcing you into the highest-priced trims. It’s the best choice for buyers who care most about power and towing capability.
• 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition: This is the most distinctive trim, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. Choose it if you want the rugged look and can live with the extra noise from the off-road-style setup.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium: This is the better-rounded turbo trim if you want the stronger engine and more equipment without going all the way to the top. It’s the sweet spot for shoppers who want performance and comfort together.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: This is the top trim, so it’s the one for you if you want the most equipment and don’t mind paying for it. It’s the least value-focused choice, but it delivers the fullest CX-50 experience.

Standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, and the optional rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and 360-degree camera are worth seeking out if they’re included.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

• Deal availability: 41.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,720 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.7% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $27,642 sits slightly above last year's $27,402.

That small increase suggests the CX-50 has held its value reasonably well in the near term. For a future seller, that means you’re not looking at a sharply weakening market, but you also shouldn’t expect dramatic appreciation. The steady pricing pattern points to a model that buyers continue to consider, especially when it’s in clean condition and priced competitively.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it received five-star frontal crash-test ratings and four-star rollover crash-test ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional. One caveat: the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 41.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling with standard all-wheel drive and a classy interior.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,797, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $27,642 average.
• It emphasizes stylish design and active-lifestyle appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $28,617, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,642 average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain for better efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current-market availability, standard equipment, and clean inventory, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If price matters most, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you’re willing to pay more for the newer hybrid setup.
