Is the 2024 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Telluride earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, roomy interior, impressive tech features, comfortable seating, and strong design. The expert review also highlights its stylish, roomy, rugged character and strong value for money, which makes it especially appealing if you want a family-focused three-row SUV that feels well equipped without pushing into luxury pricing. The main trade-offs are the lack of a hybrid option, some cheap interior materials, and an irritating lane-keeping system. Even so, the market still shows healthy interest, with 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the smooth ride, roomy cabin, and impressive tech that help the SUV feel easy to live with over time. The expert review also describes it as a vehicle that delivers strong satisfaction and is well suited to family use, which reinforces the sense that it should hold up well as a daily driver. Kia’s long warranty coverage adds another layer of confidence for used buyers, though you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition because any used SUV can carry age-related wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any listing you’re considering, even if the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and driver-assistance systems, since those are the areas where this model’s appeal is strongest. It also makes sense to focus on how the SUV has been used and maintained, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX gives you the essentials, while higher trims add more upscale materials and equipment; the SX Prestige moves closest to premium-brand territory, but some interior materials still feel less refined than the rest of the package.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0.
• Infotainment: Every Telluride gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, but over-the-air updates are available through Kia Connect plans.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD versions are rated at 20 mpg combined, and the expert review notes that real-world fuel economy is not a strength.

Which 2024 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Telluride’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. The expert review says it gives you everything you need in a midsize three-row SUV and more, so it’s the trim to target if you care most about price and practicality.
• S: This trim sits above the LX and is a sensible step up if you want a little more equipment without chasing the highest-priced versions. It’s a good fit if you want a balanced mix of features and value.
• EX: This is the middle-ground choice if you want more comfort and convenience without going all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims. It should suit shoppers who want a well-rounded family SUV.
• SX: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale feel and more available tech and safety upgrades. It’s a stronger pick if you plan to keep the SUV for a while and want more premium features.
• SX Prestige: This is the best choice if you want the most luxurious Telluride experience. The expert review says it comes close to legit premium-brand status, and it’s the trim to consider if you value the richest cabin and the most advanced equipment.

Safety-package upgrades vary by trim, so check carefully for the driver-assistance features you want before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,160 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,230, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $35,230 sits slightly below last year's $39,679.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, which can also matter when you eventually sell. If you buy at today’s softer pricing, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand, broad family appeal, and a well-regarded reputation can help support future resale interest, especially for clean, well-maintained examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2024 Telluride earns a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0. The expert review also notes that the lane-keeping system can feel intrusive when Highway Driving Assist is not active, so that is worth testing on your own drive.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds minor styling updates, standard amber running lights, and gloss-black detailing on X-Line and X-Pro versions.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,658, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $35,230 average.
• It adds new technologies and off-road-oriented X-Line and X-Pro trims.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $35,954, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $35,230 average.
• It remains well suited to long-distance travel and family use.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and fresh-enough updates, the 2024 is the easy default. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 offers a lower entry price with similar core appeal. If you want the newest nearby option and don’t mind paying more, the 2025 is the alternative to compare.
