How much does the 2024 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 11.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,017 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Telluride earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

You get recurring praise for its smooth ride, roomy interior, and impressive tech features, along with comfortable seating and strong design. The main trade-offs are some cheap interior materials and an irritating lane-keeping system. For you, that means a family-focused three-row SUV that fits especially well if you value comfort, space, and tech over a more premium cabin finish.

Good and great deals account for 38.3% of listings, which points to a reasonably shopper-friendly market.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers consistently describe it as smooth, roomy, and comfortable, and they also praise its impressive tech and strong design. The expert assessment also emphasizes that it is a vehicle worth buying and one that feels well sorted overall.

The Telluride’s powertrain and driving character are described as refined and dependable in everyday use, with good passing power and a composed ride. Kia also covers it with one of the longest warranty plans of any automaker, which adds peace of mind for ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about wear items and feature complexity than core durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim example with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, seat wear, and how well the driver-assistance and infotainment features work in real use. If you’re shopping a family SUV, make sure the vehicle’s condition matches its mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige cover the core lineup, while X-Line and X-Pro packages add rugged styling and capability-focused hardware on higher trims. Base-trim shoppers should pay attention to which convenience and appearance features are missing before stepping up.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD versions add a locking center differential, and the X-Pro package increases towing capacity to 5,500 pounds.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0.
• Infotainment: Every Telluride gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, and over-the-air updates are tied to Kia Connect plans.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD versions should get 20 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 19 mpg on an evaluation loop.

Which 2024 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the essentials in a three-row SUV without overpaying. The source specifically calls it the base trim that gives you everything you need, so it makes sense if you care most about price and practicality.
• S: This is the next step up if you want a little more equipment and still want to stay relatively close to the entry point. It should suit you if you want a better-balanced daily driver without jumping into the pricier luxury-leaning trims.
• EX: This is the trim to target if you want a stronger mix of comfort and features without going all the way to the top. It’s the likely sweet spot for shoppers who want more polish but still care about value.
• SX: This is the better choice if you want a more upscale feel and more of the Telluride’s high-end tech and convenience content. It suits you if you plan to keep the SUV longer and want a richer ownership experience.
• SX Prestige: This is the most premium-feeling version, with the richest cabin materials and the most luxury-like presentation. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale Telluride and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-package upgrades vary by trim, so check carefully for the driver-assistance features you want before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,017 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,045, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $35,045 sits slightly below last year's $39,591.

That decline suggests the Telluride has become more affordable on the used market, which can help you buy in at a better price today. For a future seller, the same softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited than it was a year ago, especially if the market stays well supplied. Even so, strong demand for a well-liked family SUV can help support values if your vehicle is clean, well maintained, and equipped with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2024 Telluride earns a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes collision-avoidance tech, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear occupant protection, and Highway Driving Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. Higher trims add front parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, automatic rear braking, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0. The main caveat is that the lane-keeping system can feel too intrusive when you’re not using Highway Driving Assist.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds minor styling updates and standard amber running lights.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,537, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $35,045 average.
• It adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and X-Line/X-Pro trims.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $36,003, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $35,045 average.
• It remains well suited to long-distance travel with a polished, capable feel.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the strongest all-around pick. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest nearby option, the 2025 is worth a look.
