Why it stands out
The 2024 INFINITI QX80 stands out as a full-size luxury SUV that has long leaned on a body-on-frame formula, but it also brings a strong mix of premium amenities and technology. Infiniti’s buyer’s guide describes it as a cost-effective luxury SUV competitor to the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade, and notes that it has evolved significantly over its three generations. It also says the QX80 shares a lot with the Nissan Armada, while premium materials and extra tech features help set it apart.
For 2024, the second-generation QX80 was still in its final model year, and it had already picked up several useful updates. The guide says the base trim became the QX80 Luxe trim in 2019 and added standard safety equipment such as emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and a rear-seat reminder system. It also says that in 2022 the two-screen infotainment setup was replaced with a new 12.3-inch infotainment screen, while standard wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a one-touch folding third-row seat were added. Those features make the 2024 model appealing to buyers who want a large luxury SUV with modern convenience and safety tech without moving into the newest generation.
There are still tradeoffs, though. The guide’s pros and cons call out plenty of cargo space and an impressive audio system, but also a small third row, bad fuel economy, and poor ride quality. That combination gives the 2024 INFINITI QX80 a clear identity: it is a spacious, well-equipped luxury SUV with strong standard equipment, but one that asks buyers to accept some compromises in comfort and efficiency.

Reviewed a 2024 INFINITI QX80 on Jan 1, 2026
After spending time with the 2024 QX80 Sensory, I’m comfortable giving it a five‑star rating—not because it’s perfect, but because of how well it delivers on the things that actually matter in this segment, especially at the cheaper real‑world transaction prices these typically sell for. The build quality stands out immediately. Material quality, fit, and finish are all genuinely impressive, and even after 30,000 miles the cabin remains tight with very few creaks or rattles. That’s something I can’t say about several other luxury brands I’ve owned, including BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac, which tend to develop interior noises far earlier. On the road, the QX80 excels at what it’s built for. The ride is extremely comfortable, highway noise is well controlled, and the 400‑hp V8 provides smooth, effortless power. It’s a relaxed, confident cruiser that makes long family trips easy. The interior is spacious, the leather is high‑quality, and both the interior and exterior design have a clean, upscale look. Fuel economy is average for a large V8 SUV—nothing surprising there. The real drawbacks come from the dated technology. The infotainment system feels behind the times, and features like a head‑up display or massaging seats simply aren’t available. The front seats could also use more side bolstering for better support. Even with those shortcomings, the overall package is strong. When you factor in the typical selling price—often well below MSRP—the value becomes even clearer. You’re getting a large, comfortable, powerful, and well‑built luxury SUV that prioritizes reliability and long‑term durability over chasing trends. It’s not perfect, but nothing in this class is. What the QX80 does, it does exceptionally well, and that’s why it earns a full five stars from me.

How much does the 2024 INFINITI QX80 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $44,663 |
| Year-Round Low | $43,884 |
| Year-Round High | $54,055 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $53,897 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −17.13% |
Prices have softened 17.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 816 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.
Is the 2024 INFINITI QX80 a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the QX80’s appeal is strongest if you want a roomy full-size luxury SUV with a long list of comfort and convenience features. The overview also highlights powerful performance, plenty of cargo space, and an impressive audio system, while noting that the third row is small and the ride quality is not especially good. For you, that means this model makes the most sense if you value traditional SUV capability and upscale equipment over the latest cabin design or efficiency. 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 INFINITI QX80 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview describes it as fairly problem free, which is encouraging if you want a used luxury SUV with a reputation for being relatively low drama. Its body-on-frame layout and established mechanical setup may also appeal if you prefer a traditional SUV design. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior maintenance and wear items were handled consistently, especially on a large vehicle that can be costly to keep in top shape.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 INFINITI QX80?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle has a clean title and consistent service records. Put inspection priority on the suspension, brakes, tires, and interior wear, since this is a large luxury SUV that may have seen family-duty use or towing. Focus on overall condition and how well the features work, especially the infotainment, cameras, and seating equipment.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 INFINITI QX80?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s-market discount on every listing.
- Deal availability: 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 816 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.13% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $43,884, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 INFINITI QX80's resale value?
The current average of $44,663 sits slightly below last year's $53,897.
That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The QX80’s strong feature content and luxury positioning can still support demand, especially among shoppers who want a traditional full-size SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 17.13% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2025 if:
- At $71,501, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $44,663 average.
- The redesign brings new styling, a new powertrain, and updated tech features.
The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the better value and a proven, well-equipped full-size luxury SUV. If you care more about the newest styling and updated hardware, the 2025 is the better fit, but it comes at a much higher price. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2024 is the smarter path.
