Is the 2024 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Ford Expedition. The overview points to a full-size SUV built around space, comfort, and family usefulness, with a third row, plenty of passenger room, and a smooth ride helped by its independent rear suspension. It also stands out for everyday practicality, with adjustable pedals and a long list of available comfort and technology features that make it appealing if you want a large SUV that feels useful rather than just oversized. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built around comfort, utility, and familiar truck-based hardware, which can be reassuring if you want a proven formula. It also highlights a smooth ride and a broad set of available features, both of which matter when you plan to keep a large SUV for years. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since a full-size SUV can be costly to sort out if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the vehicle has no hidden damage or major repairs. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, electronics, and interior features, since this model is often chosen for its comfort and technology. Focus on overall condition and how well the SUV has been maintained, especially if you plan to use it as a family hauler or long-distance road-trip vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,990 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,278, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $45,278 sits slightly below last year's $53,632.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For resale, that also means future value will depend heavily on how well the SUV holds demand as a spacious, well-equipped family vehicle. If you buy carefully and keep it in strong condition, you improve your odds of recovering more value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $61,346, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $45,278 average.
• It adds a more futuristic cabin and a new Tremor trim for off-road use.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2024 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability and strong satisfaction. If you want the newest design and are willing to pay significantly more, the 2025 is the better fit. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2024 is the smarter buy.
