How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 8.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 8,517 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 4/5 user rating, which fits its role as a practical, value-oriented midsize sedan. The overview points to a roomy cabin, easy-to-use features, and a price position that often undercuts rivals like the Camry and Accord, so you’re looking at a car that prioritizes everyday usefulness over flash. It also benefits from the later years of the generation, which helped it feel more polished and comfortable than earlier versions. 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview says the Malibu’s later years earned the best reliability reputation among front-wheel-drive Malibus, which is encouraging if you want a used sedan that has already worked through much of its development cycle. It also notes that the car stayed straightforward and easy to live with, with intuitive infotainment and available active safety features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by age, mileage, or deferred maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the car’s accident and title background, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch wear items before they become your problem. Focus on overall condition, especially signs of heavy use in the cabin and any evidence that maintenance may have been skipped. Because this model is valued for simplicity and practicality, a clean, well-maintained example matters more than chasing the cheapest listing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 8,517 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $18,684 sits slightly below last year's $20,499.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more affordable for buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the used market. For a future seller, that means your best resale outcome will likely come from owning a clean, well-documented example that stands out in condition rather than relying on broad market appreciation. The model’s value-oriented reputation should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want space and practicality without paying top-tier midsize-sedan prices.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 Malibu makes the most sense if you want the final-year version of a practical, value-focused midsize sedan and you care more about comfort and simplicity than driving excitement. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year can be worth considering, but the 2024 is the cleaner choice when you want the latest version of this formula and a broad set of listings to compare.
