Used 2024 BMW X2 for Sale near Michigan

Is the 2024 BMW X2 a good car?

The 2024 BMW X2 earns a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It fits best if you want a compact luxury SUV coupe with standard all-wheel drive, strong tech, and a safety-first feature set. The X2’s main appeal is that it gives you about the same passenger room and cargo space as the X1 while wrapping it in a more expressive, sportier shape.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarizing, the controls can be confusing, and the xDrive28i is not especially rewarding to drive, even with the M Sport upgrade. If you value style, standard AWD, and a well-equipped cabin more than sharp driving dynamics, it makes sense.

Good and great deals account for 39.2% of listings, so you have a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 reliable?

The 2024 BMW X2 is presented as a well-equipped, mainstream-premium crossover rather than a high-strung specialty model, and its standard all-wheel drive and composed highway manners support that image. BMW’s Ultimate Care program also includes complementary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

Its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic are described as capable, though the transmission can seem unrefined at times, especially on a chilly morning. The X2 also feels relatively quiet on the highway, and its driver-assistance systems generally work as advertised.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the X2’s complexity, touch-heavy controls, and premium hardware can make upkeep and day-to-day use less forgiving than a simpler crossover.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X2?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has the available driver-assistance and technology packages. Pay close attention to cabin controls, camera systems, and how the transmission behaves from a cold start, since those are the kinds of details that can shape your ownership experience. Condition matters most on a used X2 because the appeal is tied closely to its tech, trim content, and overall presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The xDrive28i is the more accessible choice, while the M35i is the stronger pick if you want the most engaging version. The xDrive28i can be had with Sport or M Sport trim, and the M35i comes with M Sport treatment standard. The base setup already brings standard all-wheel drive and strong equipment, but the xDrive28i is the one most likely to leave you wanting more from the driving experience.
• Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The xDrive28i makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the M35i makes 312 horsepower with the same torque output. BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive is standard, and the X2 also has 8.1 inches of ground clearance and hill descent control.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Driving Assistance Plus adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep, and lane-centering assist. Driving Assistance Professional adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The X2 uses a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.7-inch touchscreen running BMW Operating System 9. Standard equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloud-based navigation, connected services, and a conversational voice assistant. The available Technology Package adds Live Cockpit Professional, Video Augmented Reality for Navigation, and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: On the evaluation loop, the xDrive28i M Sport averaged 25.3 mpg, short of the official EPA estimate of 28 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 BMW X2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X2 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive28i and M35i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive28i: This is the more affordable entry point and the one that gives you the core X2 experience with standard all-wheel drive, strong tech, and a full safety suite. It makes the most sense if you want the styling, equipment, and everyday usability without paying for the extra performance of the M35i. It is also the trim most likely to feel underwhelming if you care a lot about driving excitement.
• M35i: This is the one to buy if you want the X2 to feel more like a performance-oriented BMW. It brings the stronger engine and comes with M Sport treatment standard, making it the better choice for shoppers who want the most driving fun and are willing to pay for it.

The standard Active Driving Assistant package is a strong safety foundation, and the available Driving Assistance Plus and Driving Assistance Professional packages add more advanced driver aids if you want them.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 safe?

The 2024 BMW X2 earns a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Driving Assistance Plus adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep, and lane-centering assist, while Driving Assistance Professional adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant with hands-free driving on selected limited-access highways at speeds under 40 mph.

One caveat is that the lane-assist system struggled in a merging situation on a curved freeway entrance ramp, and the X2’s driver aids can brake too aggressively when other vehicles cut into the gap ahead.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X2 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The redesigned X2 brings standard all-wheel drive, strong technology, and a Top Safety Pick award.

The bottom line: If you want the newest X2 with the strongest mix of tech and safety, the 2024 is the right target. If you’re more price-sensitive, it makes sense to keep an eye on nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped example you can find rather than paying extra just for the newest badge.
