Used 2024 BMW X2 for Sale nearColumbus, OH

Is the 2024 BMW X2 a good car?

The 2024 BMW X2 earns a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It stands out as the most affordable of BMW’s Sports Activity Coupes, and its coupe-like shape gives you a sportier look without giving up about the same passenger room and cargo space as the X1. That makes it a strong fit if you want a premium-feeling compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive, impressive technology, and strong safety credentials.

The trade-offs are real, though: the styling may be polarizing, the controls can be confusing, and the xDrive28i is described as lacking the dynamism you might expect from a BMW. Cargo space is also limited enough to matter if utility is a top priority.

With 42.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a compelling example.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 reliable?

The 2024 BMW X2 is presented as a premium compact SUV with standard all-wheel drive, a broad set of driver-assistance features, and BMW’s Ultimate Care program included for three years or 36,000 miles. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder setup is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and the vehicle is described as quiet on the highway thanks to acoustic window glass on most versions.

BMW’s included scheduled maintenance helps reduce early ownership costs, and the X2’s standard equipment and safety tech suggest a well-supported ownership experience. The main long-term risk for used buyers is that the X2’s complex controls and premium hardware can make upkeep and day-to-day ownership less forgiving if the vehicle has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X2?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-spec example with more equipment. Pay close attention to the condition of the controls, the infotainment system, and any driver-assistance features, since the cabin layout and technology are central to the X2 experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The xDrive28i is the more accessible choice, while the M35i is the stronger performance-oriented version. The xDrive28i can feel less engaging than you may expect from a BMW, so the M35i is the better pick if you care most about driving enjoyment.
• Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard xDrive all-wheel drive. The xDrive28i makes 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the M35i makes 312 horsepower and the same torque at higher revs.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Driving Assistance Plus adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep, and lane-centering assist, while Driving Assistance Professional adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel with a 10.7-inch touchscreen running BMW Operating System 9. Standard equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cloud-based navigation, connected services, and a conversational Intelligent Personal Assistant. Available upgrades add Live Cockpit Professional and video augmented reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The xDrive28i returned 25.3 mpg on the evaluation loop, short of the official 28 mpg combined estimate.

Which 2024 BMW X2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW X2 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive28i and M35i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive28i: This is the entry point, and it gives you the X2’s standard all-wheel drive, strong tech, and full safety suite at the lowest price. It’s the best-value choice if you want the design and equipment without stretching to the performance model.
• M35i: This is the one to buy if you want the most driving fun. It brings the stronger engine and the more performance-focused setup, making it the better fit if you care more about acceleration and overall character than saving money.

The standard safety package includes Active Driving Assistant, and the available Driving Assistance Plus and Driving Assistance Professional packages add more advanced driver aids.

Is the 2024 BMW X2 safe?

The 2024 BMW X2 has already earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it also scores 9/10 in our expert safety rating.

It earns that result with standard Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection assist for left turns, active blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, and a semi-autonomous backup assist system. Optional upgrades add adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and lane-centering assist, and the most advanced package adds active lane-keep assist with collision avoidance, evasive steering assist, lane-change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assistant for hands-free driving on selected limited-access highways under 40 mph.

One caveat is that the driver-assist system can be frustrating to adjust and may react too aggressively when other vehicles cut into the gap ahead. It also struggled in one merging scenario, so you should test the system carefully on your own route before buying.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X2 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 42.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• The redesigned X2 brings a sportier coupe-like shape, about the same passenger room and cargo space as the X1, and strong technology and safety ratings.

The bottom line: If you want the newest X2 design, standard all-wheel drive, and a strong tech-and-safety package, the 2024 model is the one to target. If you’re shopping mainly on price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 is the better choice when you want the full redesign and the strongest feature set.
