Variation comes down to purpose, and it is offered with 180-degree opening side-hinged doors or a minivan-like tailgate. The Metris also has sliding doors on both sides of the van, and it is available with power electric sliding doors. The standard visual setup for the Metris has black plastic bumpers and steel wheels. A Premium Exterior Package is available that adds body-colored bumpers, a chrome grille, and black roof rails. There is also a selection of available alloy wheels. ## Powertrain No matter which version or configuration of the 2023 Metris you select, it comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the Metris can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is an impressive figure for a van such as this. EPA fuel economy estimates for the Metris are 18 mpg city, 22 highway, and 19 combined. Premium fuel is recommended for this powertrain. ## Interior There are multiple interior configurations for the Metris passenger van. The seven-passenger and eight-passenger versions offer three rows, with the seven-passenger version deleting the second-row seat closest to the right-side sliding door.
