The Metris Cargo Van comes standard with helpful barn-style cargo doors that open up an impressive 270 degrees. This allows them to fold completely around and be positioned flat against the outside walls of the van. The Cargo Van is also offered with 180-degree barn doors (for a price reduction), as well as a minivan/crossover style rear liftgate. ## Powertrain There is only one powertrain in the 2023 Metris Cargo Van—a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It puts out 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission to rear-wheel drive (RWD). Fuel economy estimates for the Metris Cargo Van are 19 mpg city, 23 highway, and 20 combined. When properly equipped, the Metris Cargo Van can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is a respectable amount and better than rivals like the Ford Transit Connect and Ram ProMaster City. ## Interior In its standard configuration, the Metris Cargo Van provides up to 183 cubic feet of cargo space. The extended-wheelbase model provides an impressive 199 cubic feet of cargo space. Mercedes-Benz offers a number of upfit packages optimized for various trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more. Mercedes-Benz also offers multiple ways to customize the interior, including partition dividers, plastic floor covers, cargo trays, and chrome dash accents. Cloth upholstery is standard equipment. Black leatherette upholstery can be added for $81. A Comfort Package adds power adjustable front seats. ## Technology The Metris Cargo Van comes with a basic-yet-functional 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is easy to use and includes navigation with live traffic updates, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. ## Safety Standard safety features run the gamut from traditional to tech-focused, including a backup camera, hill-start assist, driver-attention monitoring, crosswind assist, and a load-adaptive electronic stability program.
