How much does the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 2.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 802 listings available, which gives you a meaningful but still limited pool to compare.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class combines the model’s unmistakable military-grade shape with the kind of luxury and technology you expect from a modern Mercedes. It is still built around the same iconic styling, but underneath it is a thoroughly modern SUV with lightweight structural materials, a plusher interior, electric power steering, and a flat-panel dashboard that integrates two 12.3-inch displays.

It also brings Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so the cabin feels far more contemporary than its rugged exterior might suggest. For buyers, the appeal is as much about presence as performance, and the model’s extensive customization options add to that draw.

Market availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is presented as a thoroughly modern SUV with lightweight structural materials, electric power steering, and Mercedes technology throughout the cabin. It is also built around serious four-wheel-drive capability, which reinforces its purpose as a high-end utility vehicle rather than just a style piece.

For used buyers, the bigger long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about the cost of keeping a limited-production luxury SUV in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is an expensive, limited-production SUV. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use so you can separate a well-kept example from one that has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain conditions.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 802 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $167,606, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $167,616 sits slightly below last year's $171,907.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now than you could a year ago. For a future seller, it also means resale value is still strong in absolute terms, but you should expect pricing to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Because this is a limited-production luxury SUV, clean examples should remain easier to position than neglected ones.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.50% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2023 is the right path if you want the current-generation G-Class experience with a softer market and a solid pool of clean listings. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you a strong balance of availability, condition, and recent price movement.
