How much does the 2023 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 9.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,950 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners repeatedly praise its comfort, technology, and upscale feel, and they also like the smooth ride and extensive feature content. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a three-row SUV that feels more premium than its price suggests.

The main trade-offs are some interior materials that feel cheap and a few usability complaints around the manual third-row seating and steering wheel. Even so, the Telluride’s family-size packaging and well-equipped nature make it especially appealing if you want a stylish, comfortable SUV for daily use and road trips.

Good and great deals account for 36.2% of listings, so there’s still room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, comfortable, and easy to live with over time. Reviewers also emphasize its smooth ride and upscale-feeling feature set, which usually matters when you’re counting on a vehicle for regular family duty.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Telluride as a fantastic all-arounder that is easy to recommend. Kia’s long warranty coverage also helps reduce ownership anxiety for used buyers.

For a used purchase, the biggest long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t picked up avoidable wear from family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Focus on interior condition, third-row usability, and whether the features you care about are working as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige, with X-Line and X-Pro versions adding more rugged styling and hardware. Base trims get the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen and a broad safety suite, while SX and above add more advanced driver-assistance features and extra parking and camera tech.
• Powertrain: The Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD is available, and the X-Line and X-Pro versions add raised suspension and off-road-oriented tuning.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert. Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, navigation, Kia Connect services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, over-the-air updates, and Bluetooth pairing for two devices. Wireless smartphone charging, digital key capability, and a full-display mirror are available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model is rated at 21 mpg combined, and the test vehicle averaged 24.1 mpg in X-Line form. The X-Pro returned 20.4 mpg during off-road driving.

Which 2023 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Telluride is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, broad safety coverage, and the core Telluride experience. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and don’t need the extra convenience and driver-assistance upgrades found higher up.
• S: This trim is the sensible step-up choice if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It keeps the Telluride’s strong standard tech and safety foundation while moving you closer to the richer feature mix that makes the SUV feel upscale.
• EX: This is the trim to target if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping all the way to the top. It also opens the door to the X-Line package, which adds a more rugged look and some off-road attitude.
• SX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks Highway Drive Assist 2.0 and a wider set of advanced safety and parking features. It also qualifies for the X-Pro package, which adds the most capability-focused hardware in the lineup.
• SX Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Telluride experience. It layers on the richest equipment mix and is also available with both X-Line and X-Pro treatments.

Starting with SX trim, you also get the more advanced Highway Drive Assist 2.0 system and additional collision-avoidance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,950 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,233, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $32,233 sits slightly below last year's $35,788.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled from a year ago, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer market usually means future resale gains may be more limited unless the vehicle remains especially desirable in its segment.

The Telluride’s strong reputation helps support demand, though, and that matters when you eventually list it. Well-regarded family SUVs with broad appeal tend to hold buyer interest better than more niche models.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2023 Kia Telluride earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips every Telluride with a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, Highway Drive Assist 1.5, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and Rear Occupant Alert.

Highway Drive Assist 2.0 is standard starting with SX trim, and SX models also add front parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking while parking, a surround-view camera with a forward view, and a Blind-Spot View Monitor. That means lower trims still get a strong safety base, but the more advanced assistance and camera features are reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year adds minor styling changes, new technology, and X-Line/X-Pro trims.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,893, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $32,233 average.
• It emphasizes value, standard safety, and broad appeal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,973, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $32,233 average.
• It adds minor detail updates and keeps the Telluride’s polished, family-friendly appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, features, and market availability, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the better value play. If you want the newest version and don’t mind paying more, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path.
