There are 1,214 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, and strong value versus German rivals. The review summary also points to impressive performance and advanced safety features, which helps explain the broad appeal.

The main trade-offs are a learning curve for the controls and tech, plus a few notes about the vehicle feeling less sporty than some competitors. In practical terms, this is a strong fit if you want an upscale midsize SUV that emphasizes comfort, value, and features over sharp handling.

Good and great deals account for 35.1% of listings, which is a healthy sign of market opportunity.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a vehicle that owners see as dependable and trouble-free, especially when judged by the way they talk about its long-term value and ownership experience. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Genesis backs the GV80 with a strong warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core vehicle and more about choosing one that has been maintained well and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on electronics, driver-assistance behavior, and interior condition, since the GV80 leans heavily on technology and luxury features. It also makes sense to confirm that the trim and equipment match your expectations, especially if you want the most useful convenience and safety content.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is described as luxurious, and the standard 14.5-inch infotainment screen is a major feature, but the base setup still leaves you with a system that can feel awkward to use. Higher trims add more visual presence, including 22-inch alloy wheels on the Prestige trim.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower or a turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp; both are paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The smaller engine is the value play, while the larger one is the stronger choice if you want more effortless acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Highway Drive Assist adds hands-on highway support, but the system can struggle when visibility is poor.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the tester also had a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but they are not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The GV80 is rated at 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The expert evaluation also notes that fuel economy trails some rivals.

Which 2023 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the best-value starting point if you want the GV80’s core strengths: standard all-wheel drive, a luxurious cabin, and a strong safety and tech foundation. It gives you the essentials without pushing the price toward the top of the range.
• Advanced: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should suit you if you want more of the GV80’s upscale feel without paying for the most expensive version.
• Prestige: This is the right pick if you want the most feature-rich version and the most visual presence, including the 22-inch alloy wheels mentioned in the evaluation. It makes sense if you care most about luxury content and top-end presentation.

Safety content points to a broad standard driver-assistance suite, so even the lower trims are well covered.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,214 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,444, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $38,444 sits slightly below last year's $44,331.

That price movement suggests the GV80 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current average or below it, you may have less downside than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong equipment, luxury appeal, and broad owner satisfaction can also help keep demand steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 earns five-star overall safety ratings from NHTSA, including five-star side crash ratings and four-star frontal crash and rollover ratings. It also earns a Good rating from IIHS for crashworthiness and Superior front crash prevention for cars and pedestrians.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. The blind-spot camera view in the digital gauge cluster is a standout feature, and Highway Drive Assist adds hands-on highway support with lane changes and speed adjustments.

The main caveat is that Highway Drive Assist can struggle when the sun is directly in the camera’s view.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 stands out for its value, luxury content, and broad appeal in the midsize luxury SUV segment.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,551, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $38,444 average.
• It adds a more upscale-feeling interior and updated styling direction.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it already offers strong luxury, safety, and satisfaction at a lower average price. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year and slightly fresher presentation, the 2024 is the secondary path to consider.
