How much does the 2023 Genesis GV80 cost?

Prices have softened 13.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,240 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth ride, and strong value compared with German rivals. They also highlight the advanced safety features and the upscale feel of the cabin.

The main trade-offs are the learning curve for the controls and tech, plus the fact that performance is described as fairly pedestrian. It also fits best if you want a midsize luxury SUV with broad appeal rather than something overtly sporty.

The market still looks supportive, with 40.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for the vehicle’s long-term appeal and overall quality.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by emphasizing the GV80’s strong value, smooth operation, and well-rounded character. Genesis also includes three years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about making sure the vehicle’s tech and features are working as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with a lot of standard equipment. Focus on condition, feature operation, and whether the vehicle has the equipment you want, since the GV80 can vary meaningfully by package and trim. It’s also worth paying close attention to the tech interface, because the controls can take some getting used to.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Standard, Advanced, and Prestige packages create meaningful feature differences, and the base setup is less richly equipped than the higher packages. The Prestige trim adds 22-inch alloy wheels, while the cabin and exterior styling are already upscale across the lineup.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a turbo 3.5-liter V6, and both are paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The smaller engine makes 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, while the V6 delivers 375 hp and 391 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Highway Drive Assist adds hands-on/eyes-up support, automatic lane changes, and speed adjustment for curves and speed limits.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and the tester also had a 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster and head-up display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but they are not wireless.
• Fuel efficiency: The GV80 is rated at 18 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, and the expert evaluation notes that fuel economy trails some rivals.

Which 2023 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Advanced, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the value play if you want the GV80’s core strengths without stretching for extras. You still get the upscale design, standard all-wheel drive, and the strong safety and tech foundation that make the SUV appealing in the first place.
• Advanced: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it should give you more of the luxury and convenience content that fits the GV80’s mission without jumping all the way to the top price tier.
• Prestige: This is the one to choose if you want the most fully loaded version, including the 22-inch alloy wheels mentioned in the evaluation and the richest overall presentation.

Safety content points to a broad standard driver-assistance suite, so even the lower trims are well covered.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis GV80?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with plenty of inventory and meaningful price softness.

• Deal availability: 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,240 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,827, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $38,827 sits slightly below last year's $44,709.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure resale if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less depreciation risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. The GV80’s strong feature content and broad appeal should still help it hold interest among used luxury SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2023 Genesis GV80 earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including five-star side crash ratings and four-star ratings in rollover and frontal crash. It also earns a Good rating from IIHS and a Superior rating in front crash prevention involving cars and pedestrians.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist and follow, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance, and adaptive cruise control. Genesis also includes a blind-spot camera view in the digital gauge cluster and Highway Drive Assist, which can help with lane centering, lane changes, and speed adjustments on approved highways.

The main caveat is that Highway Drive Assist can struggle when the sun is directly ahead, and IIHS rated the headlights and LATCH system as Acceptable.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Expert evaluation highlights strong value, upscale styling, and a well-rounded luxury experience.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,883, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $38,827 average.
• It adds a more upscale-feeling, modernized take on the GV80.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and a healthy deal mix. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2024 is the cleaner choice for shoppers who want the latest version and don’t mind paying up.
