Is the 2023 Ford Expedition reliable?

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, even when the listing looks clean. Focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence so you can separate a well-kept SUV from one that has simply been driven a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,881 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,721, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $45,104 sits slightly below last year's $47,591.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently today, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you maintain the vehicle. If you keep mileage reasonable and choose a clean, well-documented example, you’re more likely to protect value when it’s time to sell. Strong demand for spacious family SUVs can help, but condition and history will matter a lot in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,562, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $45,104 average.
• It offers a strong overall full-size SUV appeal with standout presence and substance.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping environment, the 2023 is the stronger primary choice because it combines solid inventory, good deal availability, and strong owner satisfaction. If your main goal is to spend less upfront, the 2022 is the better secondary path and may be worth a closer look.
