Used 2023 Cadillac XT5 for Sale nearWinston Salem, NC

How much does the 2023 Cadillac XT5 cost?

Prices have softened 4.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,779 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac XT5 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its beautiful design, comfort, spacious interior, and smooth driving experience. Those themes line up with the XT5’s upscale cabin, broad appeal, and comfortable everyday character. The trade-offs are that it could use more power and it is not the most exciting choice in its class.

For you, that means the XT5 makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, good-looking luxury SUV with strong everyday usability rather than sharp handling or the latest tech. Good and great deals account for 31.1% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting comfort and a strong overall sense of satisfaction. The expert notes also frame it as a vehicle that offers plenty of the luxury experience without a lot of fuss, which supports the idea that it should be easy to live with over time.

Cadillac also positions the XT5 as a practical, comfortable choice rather than a complicated one, and that can help reduce ownership headaches. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and trim-specific issues may matter more than outright mechanical drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac XT5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any XT5 you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the ride quality, cabin condition, and any signs of uneven wear, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or a more heavily optioned trim. Focus on whether the features you want are actually present, since Cadillac often bundles desirable equipment into packages.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is intuitively laid out, offers good space across both rows, and includes synthetic leather upholstery as standard. Top trims like the XT5 Premium Luxury add genuine leather, heated front and rear seats, and a heated steering wheel, while the base setup is more restrained.
• Powertrain: The XT5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. An available V6 is also mentioned, and the base engine can sound rough under heavy throttle.
• Safety package: Standard safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front and rear parking sensors, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, front pedestrian braking, a vibrating safety alert seat, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic seatbelt tightening during emergency braking, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: Cadillac’s CUE system uses an 8-inch touchscreen and includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a rotary controller, voice control, wireless charging, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four with front-wheel drive is rated at 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. The V6 with all-wheel drive is rated at 18/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined.

Which 2023 Cadillac XT5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the XT5’s core strengths: a spacious cabin, intuitive controls, and strong value relative to the segment. If you want the most affordable way into the XT5, this is the trim to start with.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the more desirable comfort features without pushing you into the highest-priced version. It is the trim to target if you want the XT5’s upscale feel to show up more clearly in daily use.
• Sport: This trim is the one to choose if you want the most aggressive appearance and the strongest equipment emphasis, but the XT5 still isn’t a performance SUV in the usual sense. It suits you best if style matters more than driving excitement.

Safety-package note: blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac XT5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,779 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,164, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac XT5's resale value?

The current average of $31,495 sits slightly below last year's $32,943.

That softer pricing suggests the XT5 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit further downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, that means the market may be more forgiving than it was a year ago, especially if you choose a clean, well-equipped example.

The XT5’s appeal is still tied to comfort, style, and value, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 safe?

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 earns top “Good” scores in all crash test areas from IIHS, but it missed a Top Safety Pick award because of its headlights.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front and rear parking sensors, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, front pedestrian braking, a vibrating safety alert seat, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic seatbelt tightening during emergency braking, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.

The main caveat is that the XT5’s headlights were rated “Marginal,” and IIHS testers also noted that the car seat anchors were located near other hardware that could be confused for the anchor points.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 XT5 offers plenty of the luxury experience for less money and fuss than some competitors.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,722, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,495 average.
• It carries over with minimal changes and still emphasizes comfort and upscale features.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and buyer satisfaction, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front and you’re comfortable with a similar overall formula, the 2022 is the more price-sensitive path.
