How much does the 2023 Cadillac XT5 cost?

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac XT5 earns a 4.92/5 user rating, and our experts give it 6.33/10.

The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise the XT5 for its beautiful design, comfort, spacious interior, and outstanding features. The smooth driving experience also comes through in owner feedback, and many shoppers appreciate the way it balances upscale style with everyday usability.

On the trade-off side, the XT5 is described as fairly pedestrian in performance, and some buyers want more power. The expert review also notes that it lacks the driving excitement and engagement of some rivals, which matters if you want a more athletic luxury SUV.

For you, that makes the XT5 a strong fit if you want a comfortable, good-looking luxury SUV with broad appeal rather than a sharp-handling performance choice. The market also looks reasonably healthy, with 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.92/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort and the kind of long-term satisfaction that usually comes from a vehicle you can count on. The expert review also emphasizes the XT5’s practical, everyday character and its broad appeal as a comfortable luxury SUV.

Cadillac’s maintenance and ownership approach also helps the XT5 feel easier to live with, especially when you’re comparing it with pricier rivals that can be more demanding to keep up. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle was maintained well and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac XT5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any XT5 you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, cabin electronics, and tire wear, since comfort and refinement are central to this SUV’s appeal. Focus on condition and equipment, because the XT5’s value depends heavily on whether it has the features and upkeep you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is intuitively laid out, offers good space across both rows, and includes synthetic leather upholstery as standard. Top trims like the XT5 Premium Luxury add genuine leather, heated front and rear seats, and a heated steering wheel, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while an available V6 produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic and can sound rough under heavy throttle, while the V6 is the more appropriate choice if you want stronger all-around performance.
• Safety package: Standard safety tech includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front and rear parking sensors, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, front pedestrian braking, a vibrating safety alert seat, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic seatbelt tightening during emergency braking, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The XT5 uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a rotary controller, voice control, and physical climate buttons. Cadillac also offers a Bose premium audio system with 14 speakers, wireless charging, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo-four with front-wheel drive is rated at 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined, while the V6 with all-wheel drive returns 18/25/21 mpg city/highway/combined.

Which 2023 Cadillac XT5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the XT5’s style, space, and comfort at the lowest starting price. Just know that Cadillac holds back many desirable features for higher trims and option packages, so you should compare equipment carefully before settling here.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it picks up many desirable features without jumping to the V6-equipped Sport’s much higher price. If you want the XT5’s upscale feel and a stronger equipment mix, this is the trim to target first.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the V6 and are willing to pay more for the top-end setup. It’s the priciest route, and the content makes clear that the XT5’s value story is strongest before you climb too far up the range.

Cadillac’s Driver Assist Package and other safety options are available on select trims, so check carefully for feature gaps before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac XT5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and negotiate.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,754 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,167, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac XT5's resale value?

The current average of $31,662 sits slightly below last year's $33,010.

That price movement suggests the XT5 has softened enough to create a more approachable used-car entry point, which can help future buyers but may temper near-term resale upside. If you buy well now, you’re starting from a lower cost basis than a year ago, which can make ownership feel more manageable.

For a future seller, the key question is whether the XT5’s comfort, style, and broad appeal continue to outweigh its aging interior and modest performance. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac XT5 safe?

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 missed a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and the last full crash-test results came from the 2021 model year.

It earns Good scores in all crash test areas, but IIHS also gave it a Marginal score for headlights. The same testing noted an Advanced rating for vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention, while the optional crash prevention system earned a Superior score.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, front and rear parking sensors, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, front pedestrian braking, a vibrating safety alert seat, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and the Driver Assist Package adds adaptive cruise control, automatic seatbelt tightening during emergency braking, enhanced automatic emergency braking, and reverse automatic braking.

The main caveat is that some advanced safety features are optional rather than standard, so you should verify exactly which driver-assistance items are on the used XT5 you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac XT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 XT5 offers a comfortable, spacious, value-focused luxury-SUV experience with broad appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,876, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,662 average.
• It carries over with minimal changes and still emphasizes comfort and upscale features.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2023 is the stronger pick because pricing has eased, inventory is healthy, and owner satisfaction is excellent. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one with the right equipment and condition.
