Used 2023 Buick Encore GX for Sale nearTucson, AZ

How much does the 2023 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 5.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,157 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Buick Encore GX earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, compact size, and value for the money, and they also call out its safety features and handling. That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at Buick’s entry-level crossover, sized and priced closer to mainstream subcompact SUVs, with a focus on comfort, convenience, and everyday usability.

The trade-offs are clear too. Expert testing points to fairly pedestrian performance and poor fuel economy, so you should expect a relaxed driving experience rather than something quick or efficient. Even so, the market still shows 35.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort, value, and confidence in daily use. Expert testing also emphasizes the Encore GX’s quiet tuning and well-damped ride, which supports the sense that it’s built for steady, low-stress commuting rather than drama.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Buick Encore GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment, and pay close attention to brake condition, interior wear, and how smoothly the drivetrain responds in normal driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Preferred, Select, and Essence, and the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. The higher trims add the more premium-feeling touches you’d expect from Buick, including leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable front seats.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 1.2-liter turbo-three with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque or a 1.3-liter turbo-three with 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available with the 1.3-liter engine; FWD models use a CVT, and AWD models use a nine-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic park assist, a 360-degree camera system, and the rearview camera mirror are part of option packages.
• Infotainment: Every model gets an 8-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch driver information display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM, and two front USB ports. Built-in navigation, a head-up display, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system are optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.3-liter FWD powertrain is rated at 30 mpg combined, 29 mpg city, and 32 mpg highway. The 1.2-liter FWD version is also rated at 30 mpg combined and 29 mpg city, but at 31 mpg highway. AWD models are rated at 27 mpg combined, 26 mpg city, and 29 mpg highway.

Which 2023 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Select, Essence.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Encore GX without overpaying for extras you may not use. It’s the trim to start with if value matters most.
• Select: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and should give you a better balance of equipment and price than the base model.
• Essence: This is the most upscale version, and it’s the one to choose if you want the most premium-feeling Encore GX with features like leather upholstery and the richer cabin presentation.

Safety equipment starts with the standard driver-assistance suite, while additional aids are bundled into option packages rather than being standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Buick Encore GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,157 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,799, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $21,019 sits slightly below last year's $22,204.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you’re thinking about short-term resale. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the chance of taking a steep depreciation hit later.

The Encore GX’s value story is tied to its broad appeal as a comfortable, easy-to-live-with small crossover. Strong demand for well-rated, well-equipped examples should help support future resale, especially if you choose a clean, accident-free vehicle with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2023 Buick Encore GX earns Good ratings in all IIHS crash tests and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and Teen Driver. If you want more advanced protection, features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic park assist, a 360-degree camera system, and the rearview camera mirror are available in option packages.

One caveat is the lower IIHS score for child-seat anchor ease of use, so families should pay close attention to how child seats fit and install in the back seat.

Should I buy a 2023 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the comfortable, easygoing formula while adding only a minor update for the year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,041, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $21,019 average.
• It offers a style-forward small SUV with modern connectivity and standard safety features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $22,023, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $21,019 average.
• It brings a refreshed look and a more modern touchscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and proven ownership satisfaction, the 2023 is the safest default choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer refresh and are willing to pay more.
