Used 2023 Buick Encore GX for Sale nearCincinnati, OH

How much does the 2023 Buick Encore GX cost?

Prices have softened 5.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,069 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Buick Encore GX earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, safety features, and handling, and they also value its compact size, luxury features, and good value for the money. In use, that lines up with Buick’s positioning of this model as a small, easygoing crossover that emphasizes everyday usability over flash.

The trade-offs are clear: expert testing calls out fairly pedestrian performance and poor fuel economy. If you want a compact SUV that feels relaxed, convenient, and practical rather than quick or especially efficient, this model fits that brief well. Good and great deals account for 36.7% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user review summary points to a vehicle that owners see as dependable, comfortable, and good value for the money. Expert testing also reinforces the sense that it is built for steady everyday use, with a quiet cabin and a comfortable ride that make it easy to live with over time.

Buick’s warranty coverage is standard for the class, so your long-term ownership experience will depend more on how well a used example has been maintained than on any standout coverage advantage. For used buyers, that makes service records and condition checks especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Buick Encore GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for wear items, brake condition, and signs of uneven use, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or incomplete service documentation. Focus on overall condition and feature operation, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and convenience equipment working as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Preferred, Select, and Essence, and the base trim leaves you with a simpler feature set than the higher trims. The top trim adds leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an eight-way power front passenger seat.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, or a 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available with the 1.3-liter engine.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and a Teen Driver system. Adaptive cruise control, automatic park assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a 360-degree camera system, and a rearview camera mirror are available in option packages.
• Infotainment: Every model gets an 8-inch touchscreen, a 4.2-inch driver information display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and two front USB ports. Navigation, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system are optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.3-liter FWD powertrain is rated at 30 mpg combined, 29 mpg city, and 32 mpg highway. The 1.2-liter FWD powertrain is rated at 29 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, while AWD 1.3-liter models are rated at 27 mpg combined, 26 mpg city, and 29 mpg highway.

Which 2023 Buick Encore GX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Buick Encore GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Select, Essence.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Encore GX’s core comfort, tech, and safety features at the lowest price. It is the trim to start with if you care most about value and can live without the extra luxury touches found higher up.
• Select: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It should be the best-value choice for many shoppers because it sits between the base model and the more upscale Essence without pushing as far into premium territory.
• Essence: This is the trim for you if you want the most upscale feel in the lineup. It adds the richest interior presentation and the most comfort-oriented equipment, making it the right pick if you want the Encore GX to feel as premium as possible.

The safety package is not fully standard, so check option content carefully on any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Buick Encore GX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,069 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,757, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Buick Encore GX's resale value?

The current average of $20,757 sits slightly below last year's $22,067.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved down from its prior-year level, which can help future buyers but may limit upside for a seller. If you own one now, resale value will likely depend on condition, mileage, and equipment more than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still attract attention, but you should expect buyers to remain price-sensitive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Buick Encore GX safe?

The 2023 Buick Encore GX earns a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and a Teen Driver system. Features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic park assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a 360-degree camera system, and a rearview camera mirror are available only in option packages.

The main caveat is that some useful safety tech is not standard, so you should verify exactly which package a used example has before you buy.

Should I buy a 2023 Buick Encore GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It emphasizes comfort, cargo space, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,947, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,757 average.
• It offers a stylish, well-equipped small SUV with modern connectivity.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,905, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $20,757 average.
• It brings a refreshed look and a more modern touchscreen.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the sensible pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the value path; if you want a newer-feeling cabin and can spend more, the 2024 is worth a look.
