Used 2023 BMW M8 for Sale nearNew York, NY

How much does the 2023 BMW M8 cost?

Prices have softened 6.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 207 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW M8 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW M8 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

The M8 is positioned as BMW’s performance flagship, and that shows up in its combination of serious capability, premium interior materials, and easy-to-use technology. It’s available as a coupe, convertible, or sedan-style Gran Coupe, so you can choose the body style that best fits how you plan to use it.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and difficult entry and exit, and the assisted driving tech can be confusing at times. Even so, 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 BMW M8 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The M8’s appeal is reinforced by its premium build quality, strong performance, and straightforward technology. Its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, M-tuned xDrive system, and eight-speed M Sport automatic give you a high-performance setup that’s also described as remarkably docile in everyday use.

BMW also includes a standard wireless charging pad, a Harman Kardon sound system, and connected services that add convenience to ownership. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about the cost and complexity that can come with a high-performance luxury car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW M8?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this much performance hardware and available driver-assistance equipment. Pay close attention to how the cabin, brakes, and electronic systems have been used, since the M8’s ownership experience depends heavily on condition and maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe, convertible, and Gran Coupe body styles each bring a different balance of style and practicality. The Gran Coupe gives you the most usable rear-seat access, while the two-door models are the more elegant choice.
• Powertrain: The twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 makes 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed M Sport automatic and M-tuned xDrive all-wheel drive that can operate in rear-wheel-drive mode.
• Safety package: The standard Active Guard setup includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. The available Driving Assistance Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and semi-autonomous parking assist. The available Driving Assistance Professional Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active lane-keeping assist, Traffic Jam Assistant, Side Collision Avoidance, Evasion Aid, and front cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard over-the-air-connected features through BMW’s iDrive setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The official EPA rating is 17 mpg in combined driving, and the test loop returned 17.9 mpg.

Which 2023 BMW M8 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW M8 is offered in 3 trim levels: Coupe, Convertible, and Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• Coupe: Choose this if you want the cleanest, most traditional M8 shape and care most about style and performance over rear-seat access.
• Convertible: Pick this if open-air driving matters most to you and you’re willing to trade some practicality for the top-down experience.
• Gran Coupe: This is the best-value trim if you want the most usable cabin and the easiest way to carry extra passengers while still getting the full M8 performance and technology package.

The standard safety setup is light on driver aids, so if you want the most complete assistance features, look for a car equipped with the available Driving Assistance Package or Driving Assistance Professional Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW M8?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 207 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $82,840, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW M8's resale value?

The current average of $82,840 sits slightly below last year's $88,956.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this model has strong owner satisfaction and a desirable performance-luxury profile, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW M8 safe?

The 2023 BMW M8 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

You might be surprised to discover how few driving aids are standard on the BMW M8 Gran Coupe. The Active Guard collection includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning.

If you want more protection, the available Driving Assistance Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and semi-autonomous parking assist. The available Driving Assistance Professional Package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, active lane-keeping assist, Traffic Jam Assistant, Side Collision Avoidance, Evasion Aid, and front cross-traffic alert.

One caveat is that the assisted driving tech can be confusing in operation, and the lane-keeping system can be unsure of itself in some situations. That makes it especially important to test the features yourself before you buy.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW M8 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year brings a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Competition specification across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, technology, and current-market value, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023’s updated equipment and softened pricing make it the more compelling all-around choice.
