Is the 2023 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.86/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its performance, comfort, and styling, and the M440i is singled out for its fun driving experience and empowering features. For you, that means this model fits best if you want a sporty luxury coupe or convertible with a premium-feeling cabin and a distinctive look. Is the 2023 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as enjoyable and well-liked over time. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used luxury car you can count on for regular driving rather than just short-term appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and checked thoroughly before purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW 4 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully, even when the listing looks clean, because condition can vary from car to car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, prior repairs, and any signs of neglect. Focus especially on overall condition, since this is a premium model and upkeep matters as much as mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW 4 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,229 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.63% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $39,592 sits slightly below last year's $43,332.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is presented when you list it. A well-kept example should still attract attention, especially if it has the features and trim buyers want most.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,248, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $39,592 average.
• It offers a five-door hatchback layout with easier rear-seat access and useful cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around used-shopping case, the 2023 is the better primary target because it combines solid deal availability, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer price trend. If your top priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you value its more practical body style.
