How much does the 2022 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 6.49% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,953 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and condition.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its impressive performance, spacious interior, and modern technology, and many also like the smooth, quiet ride and the convenience of not needing gas. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want an EV with everyday practicality, quick acceleration, and a tech-forward cabin. The market still shows 29.2% of listings as good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the model’s trouble-free feel, strong performance, and the confidence that comes from a long-term EV setup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained well and checked carefully, since condition matters a lot on a tech-heavy EV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm the car’s accident and title status before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, tires, brakes, and touchscreen functions, since those are the areas you’ll rely on most. It also helps to focus on overall condition and signs of wear, because a clean-looking EV can still hide expensive issues if it has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Tesla Model Y?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when you find the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,953 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.49% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 78.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,280, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $30,243 sits slightly above last year's $28,401.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. Because demand remains steady and inventory is not especially loose, a well-kept example should be easier to move later than a neglected one. Strong condition and a clean history matter most if you want to protect your exit value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.49% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of owner satisfaction, current market support, and everyday EV usefulness, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, a nearby year with a lower average price may be worth considering, but you should expect to trade off some of the 2022’s market momentum.
