How much does the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 6.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,140 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its all-wheel drive capability, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features, and they also like its comfort and practical everyday usability. That lines up well with its role as a compact, practical daily driver that is especially useful for bad-weather driving and light hauling. With 38.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers highlighting confidence in the Crosstrek over the long term. That kind of sentiment matters if you want a used vehicle you can count on for daily driving and rough-weather use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and any major repairs. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, tires, brakes, and suspension, since those areas can reveal how the vehicle was used and maintained. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you want a Crosstrek that still feels tight and dependable.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s-market bargain.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,822, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $21,822 sits slightly below last year's $23,272.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you if you plan to sell later because your entry price is lower than it was a year ago. At the same time, the current trend also shows that the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can make future resale more predictable. Strong demand from shoppers who want standard all-wheel drive and practical utility should help support value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,499, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,822 average.
• It adds a Sport trim and an available 2.5-liter engine.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your top priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value play, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
