Used 2022 Subaru BRZ for Sale nearCharlotte, NC

How much does the 2022 Subaru BRZ cost?

Prices are up 1.73% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 122 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Subaru BRZ earns a 4.29/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its sporty performance, fun driving experience, comfortable ride, engaging handling, and stylish design. The expert review also highlights it as fun to drive, easy to use, and strong value for money.

The main trade-offs are a cramped back seat and a cabin that still prioritizes driving enjoyment over everyday practicality. That makes it a better fit if you want a lightweight sports coupe with a clear personality rather than a do-everything commuter.

With 44.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you a decent chance to find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ reliable?

Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels sporty, enjoyable, and comfortable enough to live with, while also being viewed as a fantastic value for a sports car. That combination usually matters when you’re thinking about dependability over time, because satisfied owners tend to keep a car longer and maintain it more consistently.

The expert review also describes the BRZ as a more refined second-generation car, with improved on-road manners and a quieter cabin than before. Subaru’s five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty add some ownership reassurance.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about how the car was driven and maintained, since this is a purpose-built sports coupe that may have seen harder use than an average commuter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru BRZ?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific check. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a car with higher mileage, aftermarket modifications, or signs of track use. Focus on overall condition, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Premium gets 17-inch wheels with Michelin Primacy tires, while the Limited rides on 18-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. The Limited also adds Ultrasuede upholstery with red accent stitching, dual-mode heaters, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, steering responsive headlights, and reverse automatic braking on automatic models.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.4-liter boxer-four with Toyota’s D-4S fuel-injection system, plus either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The engine makes 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, and the automatic was retuned to downshift quicker and hold gears longer.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist tech is standard only on automatic-transmission models and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams.
• Infotainment: A standard 8-inch touchscreen and digital gauge cluster replace the previous setup, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and SiriusXM satellite radio are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings are 25 mpg combined, 21 mpg city, and 30 mpg highway with the automatic, or 22 mpg combined, 20 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway with the manual.

Which 2022 Subaru BRZ trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru BRZ is offered in 2 trim levels: Premium and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core BRZ formula: rear-wheel drive, the 2.4-liter boxer engine, a six-speed manual or automatic, an 8-inch touchscreen, digital gauges, and standard smartphone integration. It makes the most sense if you want the BRZ experience at the lowest price and don’t need the extra comfort and safety equipment.
• Limited: This is the better-equipped choice and the one that best matches the BRZ’s value story. You get the larger 18-inch wheels with grippier Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, Ultrasuede upholstery, dual-mode heaters, and added driver-assistance features. If you want the most complete version of the car, this is the trim to target.

Automatic-transmission Limited models also get reverse automatic braking, while EyeSight is only standard on automatic models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru BRZ?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 44.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 122 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.73% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 79.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,085, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru BRZ's resale value?

The current average of $27,031 sits slightly above last year's $26,573.

That upward move suggests the BRZ has held buyer interest well for a niche sports coupe. If you own one, that kind of pricing stability can help support resale value, especially when the car is still relatively fresh and in good condition.

The year-round price range is also fairly tight, which usually points to a market that is still actively valuing the model rather than discounting it heavily. For a future seller, that means clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable trim or transmission choices should matter.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Subaru BRZ safe?

The 2022 Subaru BRZ gets Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist tech for the first time, albeit only on automatic-transmission models.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and automatic high beams. With either transmission, the Limited adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and steering responsive headlights, while automatic Limited models also get reverse automatic braking.

A key caveat is that official NHTSA and IIHS crash ratings have not been released yet, so you should lean more heavily on the equipment list and the car’s condition when evaluating a used example.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru BRZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 44.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.73% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 BRZ brings a restyled exterior, a more powerful engine, and more tech than its predecessor.

The bottom line: The 2022 BRZ is the right pick if you want the redesigned version with stronger performance, better tech, and a clear value case in the used market. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a later or earlier BRZ may still make sense, but the 2022 stands out as the model year that meaningfully sharpened the formula without losing the car’s core appeal.
