How much does the 2022 Porsche Macan cost?

Prices have softened 7.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,450 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan a good car?

With a 3.5/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, the 2022 Porsche Macan looks strongest if you care more about driving character than maximum utility. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out for its sports-car-like road manners, stylish design, and premium interior materials, while still giving you the higher seating position and everyday usability of a compact SUV. The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment system is unimpressive.

Cons: Cramped back seat, not much cargo space, and an unimpressive infotainment system.

With 39.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan reliable?

The 2022 Macan is presented as a polished, well-engineered luxury SUV, and its standard powertrain and chassis tuning are aimed at delivering consistent performance and refinement. The performance setup is described as quick, responsive, and competent, with Porsche’s dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive system contributing to the driving experience.

The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames ownership as more about the Porsche experience than bargain pricing, which matters if you plan to keep the vehicle long term. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that a premium performance SUV can be expensive to live with if you want low running costs and broad practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and infotainment operation, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience. Pay close attention to interior condition and cargo-area wear, because the cabin and utility limitations are part of the Macan’s everyday value equation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the Macan base model, the Macan S, and the Macan GTS. The base model gets the 261-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while the Macan S and GTS add substantially more power and a more performance-focused feel. If you want the best balance of price and capability, the Macan S is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Macan S uses a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 375 hp and 383 lb-ft, while the GTS gets a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 434 hp and 406 lb-ft. All versions use Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every 2022 Macan has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring is optional, as is lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring was included on the test vehicle through the Premium Package.
• Infotainment: Porsche Communication Management uses a 10.9-inch touchscreen. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, connected services, and available WiFi hotspot access. Android users do not get the same wireless smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The test Macan S returned 18.1 mpg in real-world driving, close to its official 19 mpg rating.

Which 2022 Porsche Macan trim should I buy?

The 2022 Porsche Macan is offered in 3 trim levels: Macan base model, Macan S, and Macan GTS.

Here's the short version:

• Macan base model: This is the entry point, and it gives you the 261-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, standard all-wheel drive, and the same core Porsche driving character as the rest of the lineup. It makes the most sense if you want the Macan experience at the lowest price, but you should expect the least power of the three.
• Macan S: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 375 hp, plus a more serious performance feel without jumping all the way to the top model. If you want the sweet spot between price and excitement, this is the trim to target.
• Macan GTS: This is the performance-focused choice, with the 434-horsepower twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 and the strongest straight-line punch in the lineup. Choose it if you want the most aggressive Macan and are willing to pay for it.

Every 2022 Macan includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a reversing camera; blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Porsche Macan?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,450 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,802, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $44,802 sits slightly below last year's $48,602.

That price movement suggests the Macan has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers than it had a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. For a future seller, the key will be condition, mileage, and trim, since well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones in a premium performance SUV market.

Is the 2022 Porsche Macan safe?

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Porsche Macan has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and a reversing camera. Blind-spot monitoring is optional, as is lane-keeping assist, and the test vehicle had blind-spot monitoring through the Premium Package but not lane-keeping assist.

If you want more advanced driver assistance, this is not the strongest choice in the class. The available parking aids are useful, but the overall safety-tech roster is more basic than what you’ll find in some rivals.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.82% compared with last year.
• It brings a refreshed look, more standard equipment, and stronger base-engine performance than the prior year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the updated Macan formula with stronger performance and a more current feature set. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 gives you a compelling mix of softened pricing and fresh updates.
