Used 2022 Nissan Sentra for Sale nearBakersfield, CA

How much does the 2022 Nissan Sentra cost?

Prices have softened 6.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,647 listings available, which suggests you should have a decent range of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It is described as a well-rounded compact sedan that emphasizes easy-to-use technology, comfort, and stylish design. That makes it a sensible fit if you want an approachable small sedan that is easy to live with rather than flashy.

The trade-offs are straightforward: performance is fairly pedestrian, and some rivals offer more cargo space.

With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Sentra is presented as a competent, comfortable compact sedan with a balanced mix of everyday usability and value. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder setup is described as consistent rather than exciting, but it delivers solid low-end acceleration and good highway manners. The five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty also adds some reassurance for used buyers.

The Sentra’s technology, safety features, and ride comfort support its reputation as an easy car to live with. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its modest performance and practical limitations may feel less satisfying if you want more versatility or stronger acceleration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the cabin and technology features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic version, with 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen, and cloth upholstery. The SV adds alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, and an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SR brings 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and sportier exterior and interior details.
• Powertrain: Every 2022 Sentra uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The setup is tuned for steady commuting and highway use rather than strong acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, and blind spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control and a surround-view parking monitor are available on the test model, but they are not standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while SV and SR trims get an 8-inch screen. The system is easy to use, but it does not offer wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sentra returns 29 mpg city, 39 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined, while the SR returns 28 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Sentra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Sentra is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want core tech like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 7-inch touchscreen. It gives you the essentials, but it is the most stripped-down version.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, proximity keyless entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the larger 8-inch touchscreen without jumping to the top of the range.
• SR: Choose this if you want the most upscale appearance and the most equipment, including LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and sportier interior and exterior details. It is the trim for buyers who want the Sentra to feel a bit more premium.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with standard driver-assistance features that include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop but still some room to find a strong deal.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,647 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,495, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $16,709 sits slightly below last year's $17,860.

That price movement suggests the Sentra has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point today. For a future seller, that can mean less upside if the market stays soft, but it also means your purchase price may already reflect some of the depreciation.

The Sentra’s broad appeal as a comfortable, easy-to-use compact sedan should help keep demand steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Sentra safe?

The 2022 Nissan Sentra earns Good ratings from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Sentra comes with a solid standard safety suite that includes forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane-departure warning, and blind spot monitoring. The test model also had a surround-view parking monitor and adaptive cruise control.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can brake abruptly when it closes in on traffic ahead. The IIHS also noted lower headlight ratings, even though the Sentra still earned a Top Safety Pick award.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 Sentra is a well-rounded compact sedan with easy-to-use technology, comfort, and stylish design.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,273, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $16,709 average.
• It feels like a smart choice rather than a compromise.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2022 is the better target because it combines a softer price trend with solid safety, comfort, and usability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value path, especially if you find one in good condition.
