How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class cost?

Prices have softened 5.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 271 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction for a luxury grand tourer. The overview shows a car built around luxury, technology, and everyday usability, with an electrically folding fabric roof, two rear seats, and Mercedes-Benz’s latest MBUX infotainment system. It also emphasizes the SL’s adjustable personality, from comfort-oriented driving to more aggressive modes, while noting that practicality is limited by tight rear seating and a small trunk.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a stylish, high-end convertible that blends performance with comfort and modern tech, but it is less compelling if you need real cargo space or roomy rear seats. The market shows 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a polished, comfort-focused luxury car with a broad range of drive modes and a cabin designed for everyday livability. It also suggests the SL-Class is more about refined performance and usability than raw simplicity, which can matter when you’re thinking about ownership over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a highly complex luxury convertible can be more expensive to keep in top shape than a simpler car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price. Put extra inspection priority on the roof mechanism, cabin electronics, and overall interior wear, since this model leans heavily on technology and open-air hardware. Because practicality is limited, make sure the car’s condition and equipment level fit your expectations before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 271 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $94,512, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class's resale value?

The current average of $94,512 sits slightly below last year's $99,539.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper near-term resale gains. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your return will depend heavily on how well the car is maintained and how competitively it is priced when you list it. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $95,032, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $94,512 average.
• It adds a more striking personality with premium cabin polish, but also more everyday irritations.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the better value play, especially since pricing has eased and deal share is decent. If you care more about the newer model-year feel and can accept a slightly higher price, the 2023 is the secondary path.
