Used 2022 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearSan Jose, CA

How much does the 2022 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 2.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,049 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.7/5, and the expert rating is 8/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the stylish design, premium-feeling interior, quiet ride, and strong performance. The CX-30 also comes across as a well-rounded small crossover for you if you want something that feels more upscale and engaging than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine and a confusing infotainment system. If you value interior quality, driving enjoyment, and a polished cabin more than simple controls, this model fits that use case well.

Good and great deals account for 38.2% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on performance, style, and the spacious cabin. The expert evaluation also describes the CX-30 as refined and well put together, which supports the impression that it is a vehicle you can count on over time.

Mazda backs the CX-30 with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which adds some reassurance for used buyers. Even so, you should still watch for signs of wear, electrical quirks, and any history that could affect long-term ownership costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful here if you want to confirm the condition of the infotainment system, visibility-related concerns, and overall cabin wear. Focus on how the vehicle drives, how the electronics behave, and whether the interior shows the premium finish you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 S comes with standard all-wheel drive, an 8.8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an eight-speaker stereo, while higher trims add features like synthetic leather upholstery, a power sunroof, heated front seats, a power liftgate, and a head-up display. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, so you should compare it carefully against the Select and Preferred if you want more comfort and convenience.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder raises output to 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87 octane fuel, or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93 octane fuel. The turbo version is the stronger choice if you want more passing power and a livelier feel.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, front-and-rear parking sensors, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: The CX-30 uses an 8.8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but it is controlled by a rotary dial rather than touch input. That setup can be frustrating, so make sure you are comfortable with it before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine returns an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined, while the turbo engine returns 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S: This is the entry point, and it already gives you standard all-wheel drive, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a strong safety baseline. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-30, but it is also the trim where you feel the most feature gaps.
• 2.5 S Select: This adds useful everyday upgrades like dual-zone climate control, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, roof rails, and rear climate vents. It is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it improves comfort and convenience without pushing too far up the price ladder.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This trim adds a power sunroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and mirrors that tilt down in reverse. Choose it if you want a more premium daily-driver feel.
• 2.5 S Premium: This version adds a power rear liftgate, full leather upholstery, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, paddle shifters, and SiriusXM. It is the right pick if you want the most upscale non-turbo experience.
• Turbo: This is the choice if you care most about stronger acceleration and a more energetic driving feel. It is the trim to target if performance matters more to you than feature count.
• Turbo Premium: This adds more of the upscale equipment you would expect at the top end while keeping the turbo powertrain. It suits you if you want the stronger engine and a richer feature set.
• Turbo Premium Plus: This is the most fully equipped version, adding front-and-rear parking sensors and the most complete driver-assistance setup. Buy this one if you want the most safety and convenience content available.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but the higher trims are where you get the most complete driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mazda CX-30?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,049 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,452, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $21,841 sits slightly below last year's $22,481.

That decline suggests the CX-30 has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than on broad market momentum alone.

The good news is that the CX-30 still has strong appeal because it combines a premium interior, good driving dynamics, and solid owner satisfaction. Those traits help support demand when you eventually go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The CX-30 earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, front-and-rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, adaptive front headlights, and a 360-degree parking camera.

One caveat is that some of the more advanced safety features are reserved for higher trims, so you should confirm the exact equipment on any used listing you are considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It balances upscale design, refined ride quality, and strong safety in a well-rounded package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,081, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $21,841 average.
• It emphasizes premium feel and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,180, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $21,841 average.
• It adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact protection.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and overall appeal, the 2022 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the cheaper path, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer updates and can stretch your budget.
