Used 2022 Kia Telluride for Sale nearEl Paso, TX

How much does the 2022 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 14.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,140 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare prices and trims.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Telluride earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It also earns an 8.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its value, luxurious features, and spacious interior, and they also highlight its safety features and smooth ride. That lines up well with the Telluride’s role as a midsize three-row crossover SUV that aims to deliver broad appeal without feeling stripped down.

The main trade-offs are the lack of wireless Android Auto and a few build quality issues. Even so, the Telluride’s mix of affordability and desirability makes it especially compelling if you want a family SUV that feels more upscale than its price suggests.

The market backs that up, with 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with praise centered on value, luxurious features, spaciousness, safety, and a smooth ride. The expert evaluation also reinforces that impression by describing it as exceptionally cost-effective and noting Kia’s strong warranty coverage and complimentary one-year Kia Connect trial.

That said, you should still watch for the reported build quality concerns and make sure any used example has been maintained properly, because long-term ownership risk is always lower when the vehicle’s condition history is clean.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented accident-free record for the specific vehicle you’re considering. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior, electronics, and exterior finish, since owner feedback mentions a few build quality issues. Focus on overall condition, feature operation, and evidence of consistent maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LX, S, EX, and SX. The cabin is described as attractive and logically laid out, but the lower half of the cabin uses glossy plastic that can look cheap. The SX Prestige adds stitched Nappa leather upholstery and a simulated suede headliner, while the S trim gains a standard wireless smartphone charger.
• Powertrain: You get a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is the only engine choice, and the Telluride is described as satisfying to drive with enough power to get out of its own way.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction. Highway Driving Assist is standard, and Smart Cruise Control-Curve is also standard for 2022.
• Infotainment: Every Telluride gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and voice recognition. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are no longer available, and the voice recognition system is not conversational. Kia Connect is standard, and a wireless smartphone charging pad is standard on all versions except the LX.
• Fuel efficiency: The Telluride returns 21 mpg in combined driving in testing, and the front-wheel-drive version is rated at 23 mpg.

Which 2022 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Telluride is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, S, EX, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it still gets the standard 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, Kia Connect, and the full Kia Drive Wise safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Telluride without giving up the core safety and tech package.
• S: This trim adds a standard wireless smartphone charger, making it a smart value pick if you want a little more convenience without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• EX: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale feel while staying below the top model. It builds on the Telluride’s strong comfort and family-friendly equipment with a better overall balance of features and price.
• SX: This is the most premium version and the one to choose if you want the richest equipment mix, including the available AWD setup, larger wheels, and the most upscale cabin presentation. It suits you best if you want the fullest Telluride experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting for a dramatic bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,893, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $26,893 sits slightly below last year's $31,359.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower average cost than last year, which can help cushion depreciation if prices stabilize. Strong demand and broad appeal should still support used-market interest, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2022 Telluride earns a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it earns four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection for the driver and front passenger.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia Drive Wise is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction. Highway Driving Assist is also standard, and Safe Exit Assist helps warn occupants about approaching vehicles or cyclists when opening a door.

The main caveat is that the Telluride misses the higher Top Safety Pick+ award because of less-than-stellar headlight ratings. The expert review also notes that Highway Driving Assist does not bring the vehicle to a safe stop if the driver stops holding the wheel.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds more standard equipment, including a larger touchscreen and more standard safety tech.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,061, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,893 average.
• It offers a well-rounded, upscale-feeling package with modest changes.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,233, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,893 average.
• It adds minor styling changes, new technologies, and new X-Line and X-Pro trims.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, equipment, and broad appeal, the 2022 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want newer features and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
