What is the 2022 Kia Niro EV's resale value?

The current average of $17,474 sits slightly below last year's $19,437.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying well below the current average gives you more cushion against depreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Niro EV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 52.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,674, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $17,474 average.
• It adds a redesigned look with broader availability and a more polished feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the stronger buy because pricing has softened and deal availability is solid. If you can stretch for a newer model and want the redesign, the 2023 is the better secondary path for shoppers who care more about updated styling and broader availability than upfront savings.
