User feedback points to a reliable-feeling ownership experience through its smooth, quiet rides, impressive fuel economy, and generally trouble-free appeal. The expert review also emphasizes that the hybrid powertrain delivers compelling performance and driving dynamics, which supports confidence in everyday use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright dependability and more about finding the right configuration and condition, since some shoppers report limited availability in preferred trims and equipment combinations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, equipment operation, and signs of heavy use. It also makes sense to compare trims closely, since some features are reserved for higher versions.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Blue trim gets 17-inch wheels, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, and a proximity key, while the SEL Convenience adds a 10.25-inch digital driver information display, wireless device charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and a 10-color ambient lighting kit. The Limited adds 64-color ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and driver-seat memory.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 1.6-liter turbo-four with an electric motor, and all Tucson Hybrids get AWD. Output rises to 226 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the six-speed automatic is part of the package.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, safe-exit warning, and rear occupant alert. The Limited adds a surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist with adaptive cruise control, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart park assist.
• Infotainment: The Blue and SEL Convenience use an 8-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the 10.25-inch screen in the Limited requires a wired connection for projection. The system also uses touch-capacitive controls rather than physical knobs.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA lists 37 mpg city, 36 highway, and 37 combined, with the Blue trim rated at 38 mpg across the board. The test vehicle returned 36.5 mpg.

Which 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is offered in 3 trim levels: Blue, SEL Convenience, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Blue: This is the best-value trim if you want the hybrid’s core strengths without paying for extras. You still get AWD, the 1.6-liter turbo hybrid setup, standard advanced safety features, wireless smartphone projection on the 8-inch screen, and the efficiency advantage that makes the hybrid appealing in the first place.
• SEL Convenience: This is the smart middle ground if you want a more upscale cabin and convenience upgrades. It adds the 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a hands-free smart tailgate, making it the most balanced choice for many shoppers.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most equipment, including the surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist, blind-spot view monitor, remote smart park assist, ventilated front seats, and memory seating. It is the most feature-rich version, but it also pushes the price higher.

The safety package is strongest on the Hybrid lineup overall, and the Limited is the trim that adds the most advanced driver-assistance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 496 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,370, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $21,595 sits slightly below last year's $23,297.

That decline suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices keep easing. If you plan to sell later, the current trend points to a model that may hold value best when it is well equipped, clean, and documented. Strong condition and desirable trim content should matter more than ever in a softer market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver-attention monitor, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, safe-exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Higher trims add a surround-view monitor, highway-driving assist with adaptive cruise control, navigation, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart park assist.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its brand-new design, refined suspension, and hybrid powertrain that delivers compelling performance and driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest design, strong safety content, and a hybrid setup that makes the Tucson more enjoyable to drive, the 2022 is the one to target. If you are mainly shopping on price, you can still find attractive listings, but you should be selective about trim and condition because the hybrid carries a meaningful premium over the gas model.
