Used 2022 Honda Odyssey for Sale nearSpringfield, IL

How much does the 2022 Honda Odyssey cost?

Prices have softened 8.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,849 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and driving experience, and many say it works especially well for family travel and long trips. The overview also points to a roomy cabin and plenty of cargo space, which fits the way you’d likely use a minivan like this.

The trade-offs are clear: the Odyssey lacks all-wheel drive, trails rivals in infotainment technology, and gives up some modern convenience and luxury features. Even so, it remains a strong fit if you want a practical family vehicle that still feels pleasant to drive.

With 40.2% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday family use, with comfort and versatility that owners can count on over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Odyssey’s simple, proven approach and its strong family-hauling usefulness, which supports the sense that it is built for long-term service.

Honda Sensing is standard, and the broader package is aimed at helping the van avoid trouble before it starts. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about living with aging tech and brake wear if the van has seen heavy family-duty use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Odyssey?

At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the van drives and brakes, since the expert evaluation notes brake behavior that can worsen under repeated downhill use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with the LX, and the EX adds features that matter in daily use, including the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add leather, navigation, connected services, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, rear entertainment, and a premium audio system, so the lower trims are the ones most likely to feel feature-light.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The setup is smooth and responsive, but there is no all-wheel drive or electrified option.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high beams, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on the base trim.
• Infotainment: Starting with EX, you get an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Touring is required for navigation and HondaLink connected services, including WiFi hotspot access, and the rear-seat entertainment system arrives on Touring and above with a 10.2-inch ceiling-mounted screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The Odyssey is rated at 22 mpg in combined driving, and the expert test drive returned 22.6 mpg on a mixed route.

Which 2022 Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Odyssey is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, Elite.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Odyssey nameplate and are comfortable giving up the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up the range.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin, since it adds leather upholstery and keeps the Odyssey’s core family-friendly strengths intact.
• Touring: This is the right pick if you want navigation, HondaLink connected services, CabinWatch, CabinTalk, and the rear-seat entertainment system.
• Elite: Buy this if you want the most fully equipped Odyssey, including the premium audio system and wireless charging, along with the top-end feature set.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard on the LX, so the EX is the trim that most clearly closes the biggest feature gap.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Odyssey?

It looks like a buyer-friendly market right now.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,849 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,933, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $28,933 sits slightly below last year's $31,759.

That softer pricing suggests the Odyssey is currently in a more buyer-friendly phase, which can be a mixed signal for future resale. If you buy well now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but a seller later may need to compete against a market that has already adjusted downward.

The good news is that the Odyssey still has strong family appeal, and that tends to support demand in the used market. A well-kept example with the right trim and clean history should remain easier to move than a less desirable minivan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Odyssey safe?

The 2022 Odyssey earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and an overall five-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high beams, and a rear-seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are reserved for the EX and higher trims.

The main caveat is that the system can feel abrupt and sometimes misread road markings, which can make it less polished than the best driver-assistance setups in the class.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Odyssey’s enjoyable driving character while remaining a practical family hauler.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,268, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,933 average.
• It is a freshened model with improved safety, upgraded technology, enhanced utility, and spruced-up styling.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value and a broad selection of listings, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter budget path and still delivers the Odyssey’s core family-friendly strengths.
