Used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer for Sale nearElizabeth City, NC

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost?

Prices have softened 8.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,643 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns 4.33/5 from owners and 6.67/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable and functional interior, and smooth ride. The Trailblazer also gets credit for being spacious and for offering easy-to-use technology, which fits its role as a practical small SUV for everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear: interior materials feel cheap, and value for money is not especially strong. That matters because this model is aimed at shoppers who want a personality-rich crossover that still works as a sensible commuter or family runabout.

Good and great deals account for 36.0% of listings, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a comfortable, functional, and generally dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a good value and a vehicle they can count on. The Trailblazer’s easy-to-use tech and smooth ride also support the sense that it is built for low-stress daily use.

Its performance notes reinforce that impression: the powertrain is straightforward, and the AWD setup adds a more satisfying transmission and rear suspension tuning for a more composed drive. Chevrolet also includes a single free maintenance visit, which helps a little with early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Trailblazer’s value proposition is not especially strong, so condition and price matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as guaranteed problem-free vehicles. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, ride quality, and how the transmission and suspension feel on the road. Since this model’s value depends heavily on condition, a clean, well-kept example is especially important.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The L trim looks good even in base form, but it is the least equipped version and lacks the broader appeal of the higher trims. The LT is the best-value choice in the lineup, while the Activ and RS bring more distinctive character and equipment.
• Powertrain: The Trailblazer uses turbocharged three-cylinder engines. The 1.3-liter engine is the better choice, and AWD adds a more satisfying nine-speed automatic plus improved ride and handling.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available.
• Infotainment: You get a 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Chevrolet Connected Services readiness. The system also supports Teen Driver technology, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 26.1 mpg in combined driving, and the official EPA rating is 28 mpg.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it still benefits from the Trailblazer’s appealing styling, but it is the most basic way to get into the lineup. It makes sense only if your priority is the lowest possible starting price.
• LS: This trim adds a step up in everyday usability, but it still sits below the better-equipped and better-balanced LT. It is a reasonable middle ground if you want to keep costs down.
• LT: This is the best-value trim. It is the one the review points to as the smart place to start, especially if you want to build up from there based on your budget.
• Activ: This trim leans into a more rugged look and adds off-road suspension tuning, sport-terrain tires, and a front skid plate. It suits you if you want the Trailblazer’s most outdoorsy personality.
• RS: This is the style-forward choice, with 18-inch wheels and a sportier feel. It is the most expressive version, but the review makes clear that paying too much for a loaded RS is not the best value.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, which is a strong safety baseline no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,643 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.68% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,909, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $18,909 sits slightly below last year's $20,707.

That price movement suggests the Trailblazer has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you pay close to the current average, your downside is smaller than it was a year ago, but you still want to avoid overpaying for a loaded example.

The model’s broad appeal, strong owner satisfaction, and practical everyday usability should help keep demand steady among used shoppers. That said, its weaker value-for-money reputation means condition, trim, and purchase price will matter a lot when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns top crash-test ratings from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Every Trailblazer also gets 10 airbags, a rear-seat reminder system, and Teen Driver technology.

Blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available, so some of the more advanced driver aids depend on trim and options.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a heated steering wheel and a trailering package while keeping the Trailblazer’s stylish, practical appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,061, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,909 average.
• It offers stylish design, easy-to-use tech, and a spacious interior at a lower price.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,030, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,909 average.
• It adds fresh paint choices and keeps the Trailblazer’s straightforward, value-focused personality.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the Trailblazer’s strongest mix of style, safety, and everyday usefulness, especially when you find a clean example at a competitive price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense only if you want the newer model-year packaging and are willing to pay more.
