The 2022 Bentley Bentayga is one of the lead examples of the modern ultra-luxury SUV that can seemingly do it all. It has an opulent interior and a supremely comfortable ride, but in a package that’s swift and delivers precise cornering. The Bentayga can also venture off paved roads when called upon. In short, this is a luxury SUV that does not compromise. The Bentayga was introduced for the 2017 model year and largely carries over to the 2022 model year. It provides up to 62.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, it offers 17 cubic feet.

For the 2022 model year, Bentley has put its base hybrid engine on hold, but it has also expanded the Bentayga lineup, with the new V8 S trim splitting the difference between the V8 model and the range-topping W12 Speed.

The Bentayga’s interior is bathed in leather and soft touch materials, as well as genuine wood trim and metal accents. It comes standard with a 1.9-inch infotainment screen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can also select a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10.2-inch infotainment screens. There are seemingly endless customization options available for the Bentayga, including individual rear bucket seats and any number of personalized color combinations. In previous years, Bentley has offered a six-cylinder hybrid engine, but it is taking a break this year. The base engine for the 2022 Bentayga is a twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 542 horsepower. The most potent engine of the bunch is the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine, which is like two V6 engines mated together. The result is an output of 626 horsepower and a claimed zero-to-sixty time of just 3.8 seconds. It also has a claimed top speed of 190 mph.

Both engines route power through an 8-speed automatic transmission to an advanced all-wheel-drive system that can manage all that power through corners or on a dirt trail. Buyers can also select options such as carbon-ceramic brakes or an All-Terrain Specification that can make the Bentayga a truly go-anywhere SUV.

The most efficient version of the Bentayga is the V8-equipped model. It returns fuel economy of 15 mpg city, 24 highway, and 18 combined. The W12 version returns 12 mpg city, 18 highway, and 14 combined. Both engines require premium fuel.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Bentley Bentayga is $187,600. The S trim starts at $219,800, and the range-topping Bentayga Speed starts at $254,800. The Bentayga is backed by a 3-year/unlimited-mile powertrain warranty.
