Used 2022 BMW 2 Series for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2022 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 9.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 672 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 BMW 2 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2022 BMW 2 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is positioned as a redesigned entry-level luxury car with a refreshed look, larger proportions, increased power, and more performance than you might expect from a subcompact. It also brings impressive technology, standard advanced safety features, and a stylish design.

The trade-offs are clear: you give up a manual transmission, the back seat is cramped, and the driving experience is described as disconnected. If you want a small luxury car with strong performance and modern features, it fits that brief well; if you care most about driver engagement or rear-seat space, it is less convincing.

33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 BMW 2 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is described as a well-engineered entry-level BMW with strong performance and a premium-feeling cabin. Its standard equipment and advanced driver-assistance features also support everyday confidence.

The performance side is especially reassuring: the turbocharged engines deliver strong output, and the automatic transmission is tuned for smooth, quick shifts. The main ownership risk for used buyers is that the car’s premium features and performance-oriented hardware can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW 2 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with optional equipment or performance packages. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific car you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 230i Coupe is the more accessible choice, while the M240i xDrive Coupe adds a more performance-oriented look and standard M-style hardware. The base 230i can be optioned with similar styling features, but the M240i xDrive brings more of that equipment standard.
• Powertrain: The 230i Coupe uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The M240i xDrive Coupe uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Both use an eight-speed Sport automatic.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assistant is standard, along with active blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, speed limit information, a rearview camera, park distance control, and adaptive cruise control. Adaptive front LED headlights, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, a 360-degree surround view, and BMW Drive Recorder are available.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8.8 inches, and an available upgrade brings a 10.25-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system can support over-the-air updates.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2022 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 230i Coupe and M240i xDrive Coupe.

Here's the short version:

• 230i Coupe: This is the better-value choice if you want the redesigned 2 Series experience without jumping to the pricier performance model. It still gives you the refreshed styling, strong standard tech, and the core safety suite, while leaving room to add options if you want more comfort or convenience.
• M240i xDrive Coupe: This is the pick if you want the strongest performance and the most standard M-style hardware. It adds the turbo-six, more aggressive styling, and performance-focused equipment that make it the more compelling choice for buyers who care most about speed and capability.

The standard safety suite includes Active Driving Assistant, with blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, speed limit information, a rearview camera, park distance control, and adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 672 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,322, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $25,414 sits slightly below last year's $27,956.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market momentum alone.

Because the model has softened but still carries premium-brand appeal, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2022 BMW 2 Series has not yet been rated by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The 2022 BMW 2 Series comes standard with Active Driving Assistant, BMW’s driver-assistance suite. Standard features include active blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, speed limit information, a rearview camera, park distance control, and adaptive cruise control.

You can also get adaptive front LED headlights, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, a 360-degree surround view, and BMW Drive Recorder. That said, some of those features remain optional rather than standard, so you should confirm the exact equipment on any used example.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a redesigned look, more power, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,549, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,414 average.
• It offers multiple body styles in a compact, entry-level BMW package.

The bottom line: choose the 2022 if you want the newer design, stronger standard equipment, and better market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you a compact BMW with broad appeal.
