How much does the 2022 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 10.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,497 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used MDX options to compare.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura MDX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the handling, interior quality, comfort, and overall blend of luxury and practicality. The styling and driving feel also come up often as strengths, along with the cabin’s upscale look and useful space.

The main trade-offs are the infotainment system and some feature omissions, plus the cramped third row noted in expert testing.

With its fresh redesign and strong mix of style and utility, it fits you well if you want a three-row luxury crossover that feels more engaging than most. Good and great deals account for 37.8% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting the MDX’s comfort, quality, and confidence-inspiring character. The expert evaluation also describes it as a complete luxury package that should deliver reliable, elegant, fun transportation for up to seven passengers.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and electronics, since technology complaints show up in owner feedback and can affect long-term ownership satisfaction.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin condition, electronics, and any signs of hard use, especially if you plan to rely on the third row regularly. It also helps to compare trims closely, since equipment changes meaningfully across the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX gets standard Jewel Eye LED headlights, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a premium-feeling cabin, but it uses the simpler nine-speaker audio system and lacks navigation. Tech and above add navigation, while A-Spec and Advance bring the top ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System; the Advance package also adds a head-up display and an upgraded rearview camera system.
• Powertrain: You get one 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base MDX and Tech, while SH-AWD is optional there and standard on higher trims. The SH-AWD system adds torque vectoring and sharper cornering feel.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. There are no trim-level safety gaps in that suite.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets a 12.3-inch landscape screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, a digital instrument panel, WiFi hotspot capability, and over-the-air software updates. Navigation is standard on Tech and above, and the screen is not a touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the core MDX experience: the V6, the 12.3-inch screen, wireless smartphone integration, and AcuraWatch. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without navigation and the richer audio setup.
• Tech Package: This is the best-value trim. It adds navigation and a stronger ELS audio system, and the provided cost-effectiveness guidance specifically calls it the sweet spot. If you want the most balanced mix of features and value, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec Package: This trim leans into style and gets the sportiest appearance, plus the top ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System and CabinTalk. It suits you best if design and premium sound matter more than pure value.
• Advance Package: This is the luxury-focused choice, with the head-up display, upgraded rearview camera system, and the most upscale feature set in the lineup. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience equipment.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

The market looks moderate, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,497 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,304, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $33,304 sits slightly below last year's $37,051.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you buy now, because you may be entering ownership at a lower cost basis than earlier shoppers. For a future seller, the recent decline suggests resale values have already adjusted downward, so holding the vehicle longer may matter more than trying to time a quick flip.

The MDX still has strong appeal thanks to its owner satisfaction and upscale positioning, which can help support demand when you eventually sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

The 2022 Acura MDX hasn’t yet received released crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA in the provided data.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. The MDX also adds low-speed braking control that can detect objects and pedestrians and apply the brakes automatically if needed.

The safety story is strengthened by a higher percentage of high-strength steel and a more advanced safety structure. One caveat is that the crash-test results themselves were not yet released in the provided data.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new platform, new design, and a more assertive driving character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,959, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,304 average.
• It adds complimentary connected services and scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the fresher redesign at a lower used price and are comfortable shopping carefully. If you value added ownership perks and can stretch your budget, the 2023 is the better alternative; if price matters most, the 2022 is the smarter buy.
