The Acura ILX is an efficient and economical alternative within the subcompact luxury car segment. The small sedan was introduced for the 2013 model year and was updated for 2019. That update included fresh interior and exterior styling, a new infotainment system, and a full suite of high-tech safety features. The ILX carries over to the 2022 model year with minimal changes.

The ILX comes equipped with a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Power is routed to the front wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the ILX returns fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined.

Standard features on the base ILX include synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a sunroof, remote keyless entry, and a 5-inch display audio screen. Acura classifies its trims as "packages," including the Premium Package, the A-Spec Package, and the Technology Package. For features like genuine leather upholstery and satellite radio, you’ll have to look to the Premium Package. The Premium also includes a (slightly confusing) dual-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The mid-range A-Spec Package includes all the features from the Premium Package and adds unique, performance-inspired exterior styling elements. It also adds stainless steel sport pedals and red leather sport seats. Finally, the Technology Package adds navigation and a 10-speaker premium stereo.

The ILX comes equipped with the AcuraWatch suite of driver assistance features. This includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Acura ILX is $26,500. The Premium Package starts at $28,500, the A-Spec starts at $30,500, and the range-topping Technology Package starts at $32,400. The Acura ILX is backed by a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.
