The 2021 Volvo XC40 stands out because it adds an all-electric powertrain option to the lineup. Volvo says the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge is the Swedish automaker’s first mass-market electric vehicle, and it brings an Android-based operating system, over-the-air software update capability for all vehicle systems, and updates to driver-assist tech. The Recharge is also offered in a single trim level with standard all-wheel drive, which gives it a simpler setup than the gasoline versions.
