How much does the 2021 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 2.88% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,920 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its electric nature, advanced technology, and fun driving dynamics, and many also call out its eco-friendliness and performance. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover with SUV practicality, quick acceleration, and a modern tech-forward feel. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its trouble-free ownership experience, long-term appeal, and the sense that it’s a car you can count on. That said, used-EV ownership still rewards careful shopping, so you should pay close attention to battery health, charging behavior, and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues, even if the listing looks clean. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery, charging equipment, tires, and touchscreen-based controls, since those are the areas that matter most in everyday ownership. It also helps to focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate a well-kept example from one that may have been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing appears, but you should still compare options and move selectively.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,920 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.88% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 78.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,719, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,961 sits slightly above last year's $26,206.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition. The combination of strong demand, a healthy listing pool, and positive owner sentiment gives future sellers a decent foundation when it comes time to trade in or list privately. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.88% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2021 is a strong choice if you want a well-liked Model Y with solid owner satisfaction and a market that still offers meaningful deal potential. If you’re more price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby years to see whether a lower average price or a better deal share lines up with your budget and the features you want.
