Owners consistently praise its impressive performance, outstanding range, and innovative technology, and many also value the smooth ride and advanced safety features. Is the 2021 Tesla Model 3 reliable?

The owner feedback also points to a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with praise for minimal maintenance costs and the kind of trouble-free day-to-day use many EV shoppers want. That said, used-car reliability still depends on how the previous owner treated the car, so your long-term risk is tied more to condition, battery health, and maintenance history than to mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Tesla Model 3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and confirm there are no accident, title, or odometer issues. Put inspection priority on battery-related condition, charging behavior, tire wear, and any signs of uneven panel fit or interior wear. Because this model is tech-focused, you should also make sure every feature works as expected before you commit.

What is the 2021 Tesla Model 3's resale value?

The current average of $23,305 sits slightly above last year's $23,011.

That modest increase suggests the market has held up well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable price trend can help support resale value because it shows buyers are still willing to pay near current market levels. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep demand steady when it is time to list your car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.61/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Tesla Model 3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.28% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.61/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, current pricing, and available inventory, the 2021 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2021’s stronger market balance.
